Into the Radius 2 Patch Notes — April 2, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
- Please note that this beta introduces the core narrative, but it is not the full story. Some details may change in the complete release.
- Shelters in Pechorsk Outskirts are temporary and will be replaced in the full release. Please avoid storing loot there, as layouts and containers may change.
- You cannot import saves from the live version. You'll start this beta completely from scratch.
- Saves from this beta will be compatible with the full release. Players who skip the beta will start fresh after the full release progress wipe.
- This beta adds a lot of new content, so you may encounter bugs or issues. Please share feedback and reports in Steam Discussions, on Reddit, or in our Discord to help us improve the build.
How to join the beta:
- Open Steam and find Into the Radius 2 in your Library.
- Right-click the game → Manage → Properties → Betas.
- Select “active-beta” from the dropdown.
- The beta uses its own save folder: %Documents%/My Games/IntoTheRadius2.
KEY FEATURES
- Story Introduction. This beta introduces part of the main storyline, carrying you through the mission chain up to unlocking Pechorsk Outskirts. You’ll meet new characters, take on story-driven missions, and learn more about why you entered the Radius and what’s at stake. All dialogue scenes are fully voiced with subtitles, so you can follow every briefing and field report as the story unfolds. The conclusion of this narrative continues beyond the beta and will be available in the full version of the game.
- Once you've completed the storyline in this beta, secondary missions remain available, but the final Security Level will stay locked.
- New Gear. This beta expands your kit with gear made for night missions, close‑quarters encounters, and long expeditions.
- New consumables like canned meat and pineapples help you resupply quickly, and food containers now have improved interactions. You’ll also get new utility tools that can double as melee weapons. For example, the knife is great not just for eating pineapple straight from the can, but it can also save your life with that final stab to an enemy when your ammo runs out.
- Night operations are much easier now with new tools to handle the dark. The Flare shoots upward, arcs, and burns as it falls, lighting up the area below. Use it to navigate, mark positions, or scout terrain from a distance.
- There are four new night vision devices, each with its own balance of clarity and field of view. You can pair them with the new dual‑mode laser module, mountable on your weapon or helmet. Switch between a visible green dot for quick aiming or an infrared pointer that only shows through night vision, perfect for stealth.
- The tablet is now a standard inventory item. You can drop it, lose it, or replace it at the Supply Depot. It fits into a special pouch so you can mount it however you like.
- Exploration has also been improved. Items that were previously labeled as altered are now classified as Artifacts. Many new altered items feature unique visual effects, making them easier to notice and collect.
- Paint Customization for Weapons and Equipment. You can now customize your loadout with the new spray paint system. You can repaint a wide range of equipment, including backpacks, vests, pouches, magazines, attachments, weapon parts, helmets, and even the tablet. Spray paints and stencils are available for purchase at the Supply Depot. Choose from 14 solid colors (plus a remover to reset it), or use one of 10 stencil patterns, each with two layers, to create camo textured designs that match your style. And you can even paint your Explorer’s Uniform! Just make sure to take it off first. These changes are purely visual and do not affect item stats or performance.
MAJOR CHANGES
- Reworked the starting tutorial and integrated it into the storyline for a smoother introduction to core systems.
- Introduced modular variants of the SKS and VSS Vintorez.
- Added F-1 Hand Grenade.
- Introduced the GP‑34 underbarrel launcher and its VOG‑25 grenade.
- Introduced nine secondary mission types and new quest-related items.
- Reworked travel between locations. Moving between areas now plays out in‑world with story integration, replacing UI screens.
- Added exploration fog. Unvisited areas start obscured and reveal as you travel and discover points of interest, helping you track progress and keeping new routes surprising.
- Cabinets with swing doors are now interactive.
- Significantly improved overall balance.
- Weapon loot is no longer found in crates as separate parts, but instead appears more organically as broken weapons missing certain components. Crates have been removed from the game and replaced with more atmospheric alternatives.
- Added new anomaly types that reshape movement and combat: some burst into shrapnel on contact, some build charge on you and deliver a shock when full, some suppress all light sources in their radius, some are creatures that latch on, stack up, and detonate for extra damage on hit, and some trigger large-area electric blasts when entered.
KNOWN ISSUES
- In this beta, you can host co‑op before finishing the prologue. This isn’t intended and doesn’t affect progression, but the Host will miss some early story moments. The prologue is considered complete after the tutorial mission, so we recommend finishing it before hosting.
- The Guide’s hand may desync from the Client’s hand when passing through transition zones in co-op.
- The Host may see the Client’s shoulder band change color depending on the distance in co-op.
- Some pegboard racks in the Supply Depot may show dark speckles or black dots. This is a visual glitch only and does not affect item pickups or interactions.
- One of the new anomalies that darkens its surroundings may not render correctly in VR.
