We hope you’ve been enjoying this fine month of May so far - we say fine but it’s been raining non stop here in Bordeaux, so let’s say we’re keeping well moisturised :’)
Since the release of the Break the Path update, we’ve been hard at work on our next update, scheduled for a June release! Don’t wanna spoil you of surprises, but we’d recommend you sharpen your hunting knife 👀
In the meantime, we’re rolling out a patch to address your most frequently reported bugs and issues (full details below). You asked, and we listened: a major focus of this patch is improving dash canceling, an enhancement the community has been highly requesting. If your specific feedback isn't included yet, it just means it needs a little more development time! 🙂
Some highlights from the 0.9.4 patch:
Vastly improved dash-canceling for attacks
Improved level generation for the Rat Village and the Sanctuary
Varied fixes and improvements: balancing, UI, VFX, and lots of bugs squashed!

New
Level Generation:
- The Rat Village is now built starting from a branching path system.
- The Sanctuary is now dynamically generated around the remnants of a central alleyway.⭐️ Trinkets: Leafade: Added a rare +200% size affix (purely cosmetic, purely 4 fun).
Balancing
⭐️ Combat: Significantly improved dash-canceling for weapon attacks, making the overall flow of combat feel much smoother and more responsive.
⭐️ Gifts: Deadly Extension: Can now level up, allowing it to trigger multiple times for reduced damage percentages against regular enemies.
Level Generation: The algorithm will now prioritize placing biome-specific islands in some cases to enhance the unique feel of each area. 0.9.3.2
QoL
⭐️ Visuals: Smokey Dokey: Smoke opacity will now scale down as its radius increases via affixes to maintain screen clarity.
⭐️ UI:
- Added wrap-around navigation for items in the Deck Menu and Racks.
- Numbers in the End-Run Menu stats are now properly formatted with thousands separators.
Bugfixes
⭐️ Weapons:
- Charged Attacks: Fixed an issue where held attacks could get stuck if another input (like interact) was pressed simultaneously.
- Boomerang: Fixed the Boomerang failing to hit Pirate Shield enemies from behind while their shield was raised.⭐️ Gifts:
- Fixed an issue where some automatic effects would fail to trigger when too many simultaneous effects were active. A problem most common in Endless. 0.9.3.2
- Corrosive Control: Fixed this gift triggering excessively when combined with Crippling Dodge and Smokey Dokey.
- Refillable Flask: Fixed a bug where swapping the gift for a different level version would reset the refill count to 0.
- Refilling Crystallize: Fixed this gift appearing as a reward option even if you didn't have any trinkets.⭐️ Enemies:
- AI Behaviour: Fixed an issue where enemies would lock up and stop attacking if hit by Detonado immediately after spawning.
- Bosses: Fixed a bug that allowed players to damage bosses before fully entering their arena.⭐️ Level Generation:
- Reduced instances of the algorithm generating the same island twice in a row. 0.9.3.2
- Fixed a bug that allowed an Onsen to spawn in the Incubator even if Endless Mode wasn't accessible.⭐️ Ziplines: Fixed having difficulties to dash out of small islands with ziplines.
⭐️ LD: Removed an invisible collider near the training dummy in the Shop that interfered with movement-based attacks. 0.9.3.1
⭐️ Teleportation: Fixed a bug that allowed players to teleport out of certain active combat arenas. 0.9.3.2
⭐️ Cinematics: Fixed a glitch where triggering a cinematic mid-dash across platforms could drop the player outside the playable map boundary.
⭐️ Ark: Currency Exchange: Fixed the exchange rate incorrectly scaling with bonus Cog loot multipliers from higher difficulties.
⭐️ Endless: Fixed an issue where Echo damage would overflow, resulting in reduced damage or failing to hit entirely. 0.9.3.1
UI:
- Fixed a background error triggered when the game attempted to display the fee for an item that had just been destroyed. 0.9.3.1
- Fixed the Report Sent popup failing to automatically highlight the validation button.
- Resolved dropdown selection issues in the Options and Multiplayer menus.⭐️ Visuals:
- Fixed wind teleporters in the Factory becoming invisible when positioned behind windows.
- Fixed food pickups lacking a HUD marker when spawned from specific sources, such as the Golem Chicken's Jar.⭐️ Trial Chests: Items dropped from chests are now spread further apart to prevent visual overlapping.
⭐️ Localization: Fixed several instances of missing dialogue text.
⭐️ Co-op: Visuals: Fixed tombstones in the Ark incorrectly reacting to the presence of other players. 0.9.3.2
⭐️ Co-op: Ark: Frend Tower: Fixed a visual bug where the tower would disappear for everyone if one player unlocked it after another already had it unlocked.
Optimization
Level Generation: Implemented several optimizations to the generation algorithm to improve performance and loading. 0.9.3.1
Misc
Minor level design tweaks to Koi Koi and Hex Giver islands for better navigation and flow. 0.9.3.1
