Hey Leapers!
Thanks for all the feedback and support since last week’s update. (And a quick shout-out to those leaving personal messages in the in-game reports—yes, we definitely see those!)
We’ve spent the last few weeks digging through your new expedition data and comments to figure out what needed immediate fixing and what just needed to feel better.
Here is what’s changing in 0.9.3:
Lost Archipelago & World Balance
The layout of the Lost Archipelago wasn't quite where we wanted it to be. We’ve rewritten the generation algorithm:
- The Centerpiece: Islands now generate around the Broken Town Hall. This should make it feel more like… home?!
- Global Balancing: We’ve tuned the placement and balancing of encounters across all biomes, not just the Archipelago, to make the overall difficulty and loot curve feel more consistent.
Community Fixes
We saw these requested a lot, so we’ve pulled them into this patch (thanks for the suggestions!):
- Trial Chests: Now contain Gift Amplifiers.
- Accelerated Payments: These should feel much snappier now.
- Map Pause: Opening the map now actually pauses the game. No more getting hit while checking your location.
- Steam Deck: We’ve enabled Volumetric Clouds by default. It looks better and the Deck handles it well.
What’s Next?
We’re currently reworking the generation layouts for the Sanctuary, Rat Village, and Incubator. Expect those in upcoming regular patches. We’re also working on some bigger stuff in the background that we aren't quite ready to show yet.

Balancing
⭐️ Level Generation:
- The Lost Archipelago is now generated around the broken town hall, which now serves as the central hub for this biome.
- Combat islands (Closed Arenas, Challenges, Elites, etc.) now appear further into the level. 0.9.2.5
- Improved island distribution across branches to ensure better flow and prevent repetitive encounters. 0.9.2.5
- Reduced the number of exits that are accessible without first completing a combat island. 0.9.2.5⭐️ Gift Amplifiers can now be found within Trial Chests. 0.9.2.2
⭐️ Progression: The Super Alterattack is now unlocked after defeating the Headbanger, and Crystallize is unlocked after defeating the TriBomber Infected.
QoL
⭐️ Map: The game is now automatically paused while the map is open.
⭐️ Payments: Standardized payment duration across all shops and payment gates, including in Endless Mode. 0.9.2.8
⭐️ Banking Fish: The Banking Fish will now always spawn when its island is a dead end, even if you have nothing to bank. 0.9.2.8
⭐️ Gates: Added a notification clarifying that certain doors remain sealed until the current Biome Boss is defeated. 0.9.2.7
⭐️ LD: Visuals for Banking Fish and Shop islands have been updated to more clearly signal they are dead ends… when they are! :D 0.9.2.8
⭐️ Shop: Accelerated the payment process for large sums. 0.9.2.4
⭐️ UI: Equipment Replacement: The list of currently equipped items is now scrollable with the mouse wheel. 0.9.2.4
⭐️ Onsen: Characters will now correctly use their swimming suit in all versions of the Onsen.
Steam Deck: Volumetric Clouds are now enabled by default. 0.9.2.3
⭐️ Co-op: Teammate positions are now displayed on the Minimap. 0.9.2.3
Bugfixes
⭐️ Crash: Fixed crash when teleporting to the memorial at the Ark. 0.9.2.1
⭐️ Softlock:
- Fixed failling level generation for late game saves which lead you to the title screen. 0.9.2.1
- Map Teleportation: Fixed a bug where killing the boss too quickly would prevent further teleportation. 0.9.2.11⭐️ Hardlock: Fixed first "select species" menu being unusable 0.9.2.6
⭐️ Enemies: Resolved an issue where weak mobs spawned in place of stronger enemies in certain secret zones. 0.9.2.2
⭐️ LD:
- Fixed a statue visibility conflict with the teleporter in the Sanctuary exit area.
- Removed a redundant narrow path at the Incubator's entrance. 0.9.2.2Burn Infusion: Fixed a logical error where extra bonus burn applications were not dealing the correct amount of damage. 0.9.2.11
⭐️ Banking Fish:
- Fixed an issue requiring multiple button presses to successfully bank your cogs. 0.9.2.9
- Fixed a bug where the fish could remain stuck in its ground animation after a deposit was completed.⭐️ Endless: Resolved a value overflow issue when calculating blast damage. 0.9.2.4
⭐️ Enemies:
- Fixed an issue with spinning mobs on specific Incubator combat islands. 0.9.2.8
- Fixed Amassmouss playing the wrong animation when stunned. 0.9.2.10
- Fixed an issue where RusherSecret would not die correctly.⭐️ Gifts:
- Fixed a bug that prevented players from receiving new Gifts if they already got many (greedy, much?). 0.9.2.4
- Recovery Boost: Capped the gift to prevent infinite recovery stacks when heavily upgraded (particularly in Endless mode). 0.9.2.5
- Fixed a bug where certain gifts could not be equipped if their effects were not yet applicable. 0.9.2.11
- Echo: Fixed the Echoing Effects gift unintentionally applying echoes to all non-gear attacks.⭐️ Hex: Fixed the 'Random Chrysalis' debuff failing to kill the player if their HP was already below the damage threshold. 0.9.2.5
⭐️ Level Generation:
- Fixed Banking Fish being placed on the main path more than intended (this is supposed to be a fallback option when the level generation has few branches). 0.9.2.1
- Fixed a bug that prevented the Healing Shop from ever appearing. 0.9.2.11
- Fixed enemies spawning in unreachable or incorrect locations, such as behind locked paid doors.⭐️ Loot: Fixed an issue where loot would fail to snap back to a reachable position after an enemy fell off the stage. 0.9.2.4
⭐️ Onsens: Fixed an impossible access caused by rapidly double-pressing the interact button on the entrance teleporter. 0.9.2.4
⭐️ Quests: Fixed an issue where the objective marker would remain visible after completing the Sanctuary Quest. 0.9.2.10
⭐️ Timed Chests: Fixed an issue where the timer would occasionally pause unintentionally.
⭐️ Weapons: Fixed the weapon gauge increasing when hitting invulnerable objects, such as the tanks containing the Naveless bosses.
⭐️ HUD:
- Fixed a bug where the HUD would remain hidden after closing the Map. 0.9.2.7
- Added missing position markers for Cooked Apples.⭐️ UI:
- Fixed long item lists bleeding off-screen in the Equipment Replacement and End Run Recap menus (especially in Endless mode). 0.9.2.4
- Controls: Fixed an issue where the Share button was displayed instead of the Touchpad for DualShock and DualSense controllers. 0.9.2.8
- Exchange Menu: Added missing currency counters. 0.9.2.5
- Givers: Fixed Giver menus failing to appear if a replacement menu was still active upon death.
- Hexes: The Random Eroding Hex no longer displays a level in the UI, as it cannot be amplified.
- Map: Fixed an issue where remains would show through the Fog of War.
- Map: Fixed an issue where the map would reveal all of its content prematurely.
- Map: Fixed the next biome's reward not displaying correctly.
- Map: Fixed the player's position marker appearing at wrong place while inside the Onsen. 0.9.2.2
- Mouse Scrolling: Fixed scrolling functionality across multiple menus. 0.9.2.5⭐️ Visuals:
- Fixed gigantic chimney that was obstructing battle areas in the Factory. 0.9.2.2
- Cleaned up "flying" goo assets in the Hex Giver zone. 0.9.2.2
- Fixed 31 island layouts across the Factory and Lost Archipelago where decorations would clip into adjacent islands. 0.9.2.3
- Fixed the color rendering on the Umbrella weapon model. 0.9.2.10
- Fixed misplaced wooden elements on the Banking Fish dead-end islands. 0.9.2.11
- Loots: Fixed an issue where Cogs and Shells were absorbed instantly if overlapping with an open chest, making it unclear if rewards were collected.
- Memorials: Fixed visual glitches affecting skins on memorial ghosts.
- Codex Pages: Fixed Codex Page pickups lacking the standard pickup animation.
- Onsen: Fixed an issue where swapping or picking up weapons would cause them to appear inside the Onsen.
- Gift Amplifiers: Fixed an issue where visuals persisted for too long after use.⭐️ Inputs: Disabled the ability to bind Dash and Interact to the same controller button to prevent logic conflicts. 0.9.2.5
⭐️ Keyboard: Fixed input conflicts between the Pause sub-menus and the TAB key. 0.9.2.4
⭐️ Virtual Keyboard / Steam Deck:
- Resolved a rare issue where the virtual keyboard could be reopened unintentionally, causing UI navigation conflicts. 0.9.2.8
- Fixed the text chat panel failing to auto-close the virtual keyboard after sending an empty message. 0.9.2.8⭐️ Localization:
- Fixed Trial Chest text strings for the Russian language. 0.9.2.2
- Added missing warning text on equipment pickups when requirements for use are not met. 0.9.2.5⭐️ Co-op / Softlock: Fixed an issue where players were unable to move if the Map was open while the next biome was loading. 0.9.2.10

Optimization
Optimized Minimap rendering for better performance. 0.9.2.3
⭐️ Culling: Improved culling for animated elements to boost performance when multiple islands are within the camera's field of view. 0.9.2.5
Implemented several performance improvements to the Level Generation algorithm for faster and smoother loading.
