You may now notice that the NPCs in the game are chatty - there is temporary developer audio now for most NPC barks and a bit of Barnes's dialog. Much of that audio is literally just temp files in place to verify that the events are wired up. The plan is to replace all of that dialog with "real" audio. In the meantime, if it gets old you can turn the bark and dialog volume down in settings.
You'll also notice a bunch of ambient audio in certain areas - the crack of asteroids and crystals, the crackling of energy, the radio chatter of different bases. That's also all a work-in-progress, but it's an important step to wiring everything up.
Finally, there are a ton of miscellaneous improvements, including a new Research view that shows which of the (many) technologies you have unlocked in your journey. Terran technologies can be bought with credits in Sol. Alien technologies are unlocked via research points earned by completing missions and defeating wandering fleets.
The most significant thing still not in the game are the end boss battles. Right now the save files are pretty stable, so you should be able to play for quite a while with no issues. If you DO have any problems, please report them at: https://doublerobot.com/contact
