Sink Again Patch Notes — October 31, 2020
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED THE GAME
The first of week after early access showed me that players are interested in a game. Sink Again is not a game for everyone, cause it hard to start and to understand the rules. So I do not expect too big audience.
I want to thank all players who have already purchased the game. Your support on early access helping me to continue developing the game on full time. And I was almost 1 step from going back to work as an artsist again. And in this case I would have much less time to work on the game.
GAME RELEASE
I want shortly explain my plans as about game release. Steam does not recommend to give any promises. So this is not a promise, it is just a plan.
What major things will add/change at v1.0
- More content. I have already started to develope more inventory items. Also there are new characters, traits, missions and some other things which I would keep as a secret for now. Since in a game you unlock the new content by completing scenarios. New scenarios will appeare in a game at v1.0. because scenarios are the hardest and longest content to implement. But the reward of scenarios (items/characters/traits) will appeare in a game right after I will create it. This mean that after I add new characters, for example, you will be able to hire it in a tavern. Untill I release the scenario which should unlock it. I think in this way "Early Accessers" will see that developing did not stop and new content will help to wait till the v1.0
- Gameplay Improvement. I read all the letters and bug/suggestions section on a Steam and collect bugs and suggestions issues to the list which I will implement in between content development. I have already fixed some bugs but adding new features takes more time. I have already added to the list of features: advanced graphics settings (some users wanna turn off Bloom or Chromatic Abberation), Keybinging (some of you have another point of view on comfortable controlls), some testers asked my to add "Wait" feature in a battle, some feedback how to make interface more friendly and many more. I am collecting every suggestion but it does not mean that every comment fits good in a game mechanics. Also as I work alone I can't answer to everyone fast, and to add all the features (implement by priority)
When the day of release (v1.0)???
I can't promise but I plan to finish all the features/content that I want in next 2 months. Maybe close to X-mas and New Year. But it's possible if sales will not drop down. In this situation it is possible that I will work full time job to earn for living and finishing the game in a free time. So if you like the game - then recommend it to your friends and even gift the game to your friends by yourself.
INTERACTION WITH THE COMMUNITY
I mostly get positive feedback from the communiy and ask everyone (especially who have already purchased the game) to report bugs and to suggest features which you think will perfectly fit to the game (like "Wait" action in a battle which is important in a tactics).
But remember that I work alone and sometimes it takes some time to see your comments and to implement new features.
HELP ME TO FINISH THE GAME
If you have already purchased the game - you have already helped me a lot. But as I told before - recommend the game to your friends, suggest streamers which you follow to check the game, etc. I am an indie developer and I have no budget for promotion. The first week showed good sales but it will decrease soon.
This is very important for indie games. For that majority of indie developer success is even when you earn enough money to compensate the time you spent on a developing. I am far even from such small success for now. But it is only first week. And the week showed me that I did not waste 9 months of my life for nothing :)
After a short rest I have already started to implement the plan.
Next week I have a small surprise for players. Keep in touch and read the news.
Have fun, pirates! Argghhh!
