BodyRecords Patch Notes — June 22, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
First of all, we would like to thank everyone who has shown interest in the reworked iteration of BodyRecords, which has now been in development for over five months.
Our previous post covered only a portion of what this new direction for the game includes. The scope of the rework is simply too large to present everything at once, especially while many gameplay systems, features, and parts of the environment continue to evolve on a daily basis.
For this reason, upcoming updates will first be released through the Preview branch before being moved to the stable version of the game.
Over the past week, we have reviewed and investigated the crash reports submitted by you, our players, and included every available fix in this update. We have also continued internal testing, gameplay calibration, and the gradual expansion of the game world.
Here is what has changed over the past week.
Crash Fixes
Addressed recurring crashes related to physics simulation, caused by conflicts between world streaming and physics processes that had not yet finished.
Addressed crashes caused by incorrect player-state validation while updating UI elements.
Addressed crashes related to the order in which game objects were unloaded and accessed in memory.
Gameplay Fixes and Improvements
Fixed the Device Synchronization puzzle, which could not be completed in the previous build.
Fixed radiation buildup effects being removed too early when multiple radiation zones overlapped. Radiation buildup effects can now stack up to three times.
Fixed Geiger counter sounds not working correctly inside buildings.
Fixed refueling vehicles and generators with fuel cans. Fuel cans can no longer be stacked and now correctly preserve their remaining fuel.
Added an interaction highlight to generators while the player is holding a fuel can.
Added interaction highlights to elements of the Device Synchronization puzzle.
Added interaction highlights to light switches.
Improved the HUD presentation of Hold to Interact prompts and restored them for the evacuation radio and evacuation helicopter.
Fixed the voice activity indicator not updating correctly after opening and closing the tablet while seated inside a vehicle.
Reworked camera shake during movement to preserve a natural sense of motion while reducing motion sickness.
World Fixes
Redistributed audio zones so that outdoor ambient and suspense sounds no longer play incorrectly inside buildings.
Reconfigured electronic devices throughout the world.
Note: Some generators and connected devices may still fail to synchronize correctly. This system remains a work in progress.
Fixed several locations on the ground floor of the pumping station where monsters could become stuck.
Fixed a location in the pumping station where loot containers could not be reached because of incorrect collision geometry.
Environment Additions
Added several small points of interest.
Added several teleportation anomalies and new teleport exit points.
Adjusted the placement of several teleport exits to prevent unnecessary fall damage.
Partial Balance Changes
Adjusted the drop rates of ammunition and access cards.
Puzzle Rework
The Device Synchronization puzzle has received additional improvements and optimization.
The temporary collection of unrelated images has been replaced with a consistent set of clearly readable symbols. Memory usage has also been reduced by storing the symbols in a single texture atlas rather than loading them as separate images.
What We Are Working On
Many more changes are currently in development. Here is a brief overview of what you can expect from upcoming updates:
Further improvements to interactive environmental elements, including the redistribution and configuration of electrical devices, locks, and doors.
A stronger focus on survival gameplay, including more controlled enemy spawning, difficulty progression across in-game days, adjustments to safe zones, and further balancing of both regular and special enemies.
Further development and the return of temporarily removed items, including the UV flashlight and signal flare.
Further development and the return of temporarily removed event entities, including the Giant, Runner, UFO, and Bacterium.
Additional loot balancing, particularly for fuel and medical supplies.
More small points of interest and routes to discover.
This Preview build is another step toward bringing the reworked version of BodyRecords together. Your crash reports, feedback, and continued support are helping us identify problems and improve the game with every update.
Thank you for being part of this process. We look forward to sharing the next stage of development with you.
The update is available to all game owners. See the screenshot below for instructions on how to access it.
