Tollway Tycoon Patch Notes — May 13, 2026

Originally intended a small balance and fix patch, but the size has grown quite a lot!
1 New Major Event!
Corporate Surge
In this event, traffic demand dramatically increases (as does driver impatience!), e-mails go flying, paper gets scattered and ad-hoc meetings fill the Tollway.
Watch-out for the mass e-mail trails due to cause Chaos on the road.
20 New Mini Tollbooth Events!
More crazy scenario's and easter egg events have been added to keep constant variety of events at the booth.

- Added the Corporate Surge major event for daytime hours.
- 20 Additional mini-tollbooth events added.
- Added additional ways to boost happiness - Hover over Happiness in-game to see various suggestions.
- Modified HQ Daily Objectives to give more objective variety.
- Increased costs of various upgrades to balance progression.
- Reduced the reward amount of contracts to prevent them as the primary income source.
- Happiness changes are now smoothed over time instead of instantaneous.
- Bombs reduced during the war event.
- Zombies take longer to despawn cars.
- Potato truck will no longer get stuck in the slow zone.
- Area repair (R) will now repair broken down cars too.

- Added clouds to the sky.
- Put a bit of spin on the night sky.
- Daily directives completed now contributes towards the end score
- Reduced suggestions for HQ daily of pricing accuracy.
- Improved night/day transition skyboxes.

- Happiness hover now shows what can also be improved other than issues.
- Glowing ring added around the outside of the tutorial popups for the menu's to make them visually obvious.
- Added a ! above the golden potato to get players attention even more.
- Fixed the moon stats for the car/deer in the main menu global stats.

- Staff reliability and speed stat bar display bugs have been fixed.
- Tweaks to a couple of easter eggs.
- Drunk drivers had a slightly higher chance to be picked, adjusted to normal.
- Protection for the "stable road" directive not resolving on completion.
- Open Menu's and game pauses should no longer affect queue times.
- Fixed occasional crash on exit to main menu button.
- Fixed crash when loading a game with Tier 4 booths.
- Fixed mouse disappearing on right click being pressed down.
- Tollworker xp gain corrected.
- Patrolling security now responds to stray protestors
- Staff can now re-attend jobs that were cancelled after half-repairs were done
- Security and Maintenance are now counted as unavailable when returning back to HQ from another job
- Additional detection against staff stuck-scenario's (rubber-banding) with recoveries added
Costs of some upgrades have been increased and multiple contract incomes have been decreased.
For the next patch, I'll be focusing more on late game plus additional late-game achievements for the players highlighting considerable balances at the end of their game :)
