Thank you to everyone who continued reporting issues and sharing feedback over the past weeks.
Please, read this first
The game is still in Early Access. You may encounter performance issues, bugs, or crashes. This is a normal part of development, and your feedback plays a key role in helping us improve the experience.
That said, some early technical decisions led to challenges we hadn’t fully anticipated.
As a reminder, part of the team is still actively supporting the current public and beta versions of the game, bringing updates, content, and optimizations, while another part is working in parallel on rebuilding core systems.
This includes developing a new version of the game from scratch using Unreal Engine 5.7 (or a later version). We’ll transition to this new version once it meets our quality standards. We’ll share more details about this in a dedicated update.
Steam Page
We have updated our Steam page, including the store description and visual assets (GIFs), to better reflect the current state of Drive Beyond Horizons. We will continue to evolve the page in line with the game’s updates and news.
We also revisited the Early Access section to provide clearer information regarding its structure and intended duration, in order to improve transparency and alignment with our development roadmap.

Fixed missing or mismatched light sources across several locations.
Fixed issue with some foliage clipping into spawn house.
Fixed broken dumpster and trash bin placement across multiple POIs.
Fixed the major performance bottleneck at the Large Chameleon Gas Station
Fixed incorrect lighting behavior at the Large Chameleon/Lag Station, including a projector light that remained visible during daytime at long distances.
Fixed issue with toilets duplicating in cameleon gas station
Reduced overcast cloud sample scaling (2 - 1).
Disabled volumetric cloud light rays for improved performance.
Garage
Added a Trash UFO disposal system to the Garage, allowing players to throw away unwanted items and have them collected by the UFO service.
Fixed multiple collision issues inside and around the Garage instance.
Fixed fences that could become stuck in the air, trap vehicles, or fail to be picked up after impact.
Fixed a clipping issue where a Garage roll-up door frame was too wide and intersected with the building wall.
Fixed an issue where batteries placed on the Garage charge station could teleport and become stuck under the floor.
Fixed invisible collision around the recharge station.
Fixed an issue where the Garage paint machine could fail to spawn after entering the Garage. The table could appear correctly, but the paint machine itself was missing.
Fixed an issue where interacting with the Garage computer menu could cause the player's money amount to decrease unexpectedly.
The incorrect money value could persist after returning to the main game.
Fixed an issue where the Ctrl+S Garage window could be opened from any computer, including the spawn computer.
Vehicle spawning through the Garage app should now only be available in the intended Garage context.
Vehicles
Fixed the inverted rear-right seat material on the Bonphiac.
Improved the Bonphiac tail light LOD so rear lights no longer appear broken at close driving distance.
Adjusted Bonphiac window glass visibility so the windows are easier to see.
Fixed an issue where installing a Left C18 Door on the Bonphiac could detach the inner subframe.
Prevented the Bonphiac subframe from being removed into an invalid state where it could not be reinstalled.
Fixed an issue where the Dada headlight model could turn dark or burned-looking when headlights were enabled.
Fixed the same issue affecting Poyopa roll bar lights using the same light model.
Fixed an issue where the C18 could not shift above 2nd gear in Alpha and Public builds.
The C18 should now shift correctly when starting a new save or spawning it from the Garage.
Fixed an issue where vehicles could still be steered or driven without a steering wheel installed.
Fixed a physics issue where installing IFA wheels and tires on the Poyopa could cause the vehicle to violently spin or barrel roll.
This was especially noticeable when installing right-side wheels or releasing the parking brake after installation.
Fixed an issue where the tire repair machine inverted wheel orientation, causing the rim to appear on the wrong side after repair or reinstallation.
Fixed an issue where removing wheels after changing suspension or axle height could cause axles to move under the map, preventing wheels from being reattached.
Fixed an issue where players could load into a save or respawn without their vehicle appearing nearby.
Tires now store their friction values themselves and no longer use a default value for the car. Now different tires will give a different grip on the car.
Tools, Items & Interactions
Fixed multiple camera lock issues caused by using cleaning tools while switching hotbar slots.
Previously, using a brush or sponge and storing the item during the cleaning action could lock mouse movement.
Fixed an issue where pulling the item back out could rotate the item instead of moving the camera.
Camera control should now recover correctly without requiring the player to use the tool again.
Fixed an issue where vehicle paint could turn dark after using the sponge first and then the rust brush.
Vehicles and trailers should now remain cleanable after rust removal.
Fixed an issue where players could pour liquids out or remove liquids, but could not properly transfer liquids into vehicles or containers.
Fixed an issue where some store items appeared as black boxes or outlines instead of displaying correctly.
Cleaned up mixed-language UI text where parts of the store interface appeared in both English and French.
Fixed April Fools fish mask issues.
The green fish mask should no longer fall through the ground.
The gold fish mask should now be obtainable and appear correctly in the spawn item list.
Fixed an issue where Wrap N Roll failed to detect eligible parts for wrapping.
Fixed an issue where Part Sniffer did not register parts correctly.
Fixed an issue where Part Finder / Part Reader failed to recognize parts across vehicles.
Fixed an issue where the backpack in Spawn POI was clipping through the ground.
Fixed Issue with Engine Hoist being too light.
Money & ATM
Fixed an issue where players could hold money but could not properly pocket or collect it.
Fixed multiple ATM issues where money or gold could be lost, rejected, or processed incorrectly.
Fixed an issue where accidentally pressing the withdraw button before depositing could cause later deposits to error out or be rejected as fraudulent.
Fixed an issue where depositing a large money stack could register only part of the amount.
Fixed an issue where duplicated money or gold could prevent the original money from being cashed in at the ATM.
Fixed a multiplayer issue where guest players attempting to deposit money could drop it in front of the ATM and have it fall through the ground.
Fixed an issue where $0 bills could spawn with broken physics. These bills could float in the air, ignore gravity, behave strangely when grabbed, remain suspended when dropped, and even move vehicles when thrown.
Money stacks should no longer incorrectly convert into $0 bills.
Fixed an issue in Infinite Mode where money could disappear or fail to register.
Fixed a related issue where using the computer could freeze the game while audio continued playing in the background.
Missions & Quests
Roombas should no longer be assigned as a mission objectives.
Fixed an issue where Cow Dung could be requested as a mission item but could not be registered or delivered through Express Lockers or Delivery Terminals.
This mission should now either work correctly or no longer generate in an impossible state.
Fixed an issue where the quest system requested a bench seat version that did not match the version players could actually turn in.
GTR Bench Seat 2 should now be handled correctly by the quest system.
Player Controls & Character
Fixed an issue where "Hold to Sprint" could continue sprinting after the sprint key was released.
Players should no longer need to fully stop moving before returning to walking speed.
Fixed an issue where fists could disappear while sprinting in fist mode.
This bug was previously marked as resolved but was still occurring.
Fixed missing vertical camera clamping while in Unarmed Combat stance.
Players can no longer rotate the camera far enough to clip through their own torso or arms.
This should prevent extreme camera angles, inside-mesh views, and broken first-person visuals.
Multiplayer
Fixed an issue where players could join password-protected co-op sessions without entering the required password.
Improved password verification by handling it directly through an external server instead of Steam, which also allows us to display more multiplayer sessions — sorry about the delay, we had to find a better way to do it to avoid hackers from joining multiplayers session.
Added password request for password protected servers when joining through steam friends
Added moderation tools allowing the studio to ban players from accessing multiplayer services.
Bans are currently handled manually by the team. Players can be reported via Discord using the /report user command. Evidence such as clips or screenshots may be required to process a report. Action will only be taken in cases of repeated behavior causing a significant impact on the gameplay experience.
New games, saved games, and Garage sessions now default to Solo instead of Multiplayer.
Players can still manually choose Multiplayer.
This should reduce accidental public sessions, griefing, and frustration for new players.
Fixed a fatal error that could occur when joining a multiplayer server as a client from the multiplayer screen.
Focus for this update was stabilizing the rewritten terrain system in single-player; multiplayer fixes and hotfixes will continue as needed.
Terrain System
Terrain now generates ahead of moving vehicles, reducing terrain loading delays while driving.
Added preloading and predictive generation for terrain, roads, and foliage.
Foliage Improvements
Added scalability controls for foliage generation, loading distances, collision handling, and memory retention.
Reworked foliage generation scheduling so vehicles can no longer easily outrun foliage spawning.
Added memory safeguards to prevent excessive growth at large generation distances.
Reduced visible foliage pop-in/pop-out when stationary or moving slowly.
Improved collision and visual generation prioritization.
Fixed distance cliff faces going invisible when player looks straight at them.
Lowered Vram and ram usage from foliage.
Optimized foliage meshes.
Optimized rock meshes.
Optimized Cliff face meshes.
UI, Menu & Video
Improved main menu panorama and render performance.
Fixed a long-standing issue where the main menu could run at extremely low frame rates and feel heavily stuttered.
Fixed an issue in Solo mode where the pause menu could not be closed properly with the Escape key.
Fixed an issue where the intro movie and main menu background video could display a black screen instead of playing correctly.
Fixed laggy video playback and choppy audio during tutorial videos.
Replaced the video format from .mp4 to .bk2 to improve performance.
Fixed an issue where pressing Escape to close the car lift / bridge menu could make the menu unusable.
Fixed a major memory issue caused by opening the Backup History list.
Opening multiple Backup History menus could previously cause large VRAM and RAM spikes, potentially crashing the game or system. This should significantly improve stability when browsing save backups.
Localization & Translation Improvements
We have reviewed and overhauled the English translation. This work includes refining terminology, improving consistency across all in-game texts, and establishing English as the reference language for future localization efforts. There are likely still a few texts we missed, so please feel free to let us know about them on Discord.
Going forward, we will also involve our Discord community in helping us translate the game into additional languages. If you want to help, come and join us!
Special thanks to everyone who contributed to improving the English version: BurūSukai, Shadow, Le Chat A Lunettes, Pharaoh, and Blue Fox Rianni.
Audio & Radio
Fixed an issue where the radio stopped working after the update even when volume settings were unchanged and the car was fully assembled.
Stability & Launch
Fixed an issue where the game could become stuck on the update screen and fail to start.
Fixed a fatal crash that could occur after updating the game, including cases related to Smart App Control blocking the launch.
Fixed an issue where the game could crash immediately after launch when reaching the "Start New Game" screen.
Known Issues
We are aware of several remaining issues that may still occur in this build:
In Multiplayer, attached items on some vehicles may spawn outside the vehicle, fall through the ground, or appear desynced between host and client.
In Multiplayer, using the Exit Car / unstuck button while another player is already occupying the same seat may cause character control issues for both players.
The “Weight affects vehicles” option may make some vehicles difficult or impossible to drive.
In Multiplayer, clients may experience weapon/item desync when switching from the AK to other handheld items.
Vehicles may sometimes lose control, spin, or fly into the air when driving at high speed.
In the Garage Instance, vehicles may sometimes spawn inside or on top of existing vehicles, causing damage or physics issues.
In Multiplayer, recovering a vehicle as a client may sometimes fail to spawn the vehicle correctly.
These issues are still being investigated and will be addressed in future updates or hotfixes.
