Super BAWK BAWK Chicken Patch Notes — June 23, 2023

Level Tweaks and Nerfs
- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, once I hit a fish and died. Fish are now far easier to spot than before, especially at high speeds. Fish spawn closer to the back of their block, the bubbles that spawn near underwater fish are bigger, and most importantly: fish jump all the time!
- 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, doggos get updated again. Dogs run speed now better matches their animations. Dogs with hoops now get more air time.

The Nitty Gritty
Quality of Life
- Added audio cues that play when your dash and bawk recharge.
- You can now see the items you have equipped on the end of run screen.
- The stars and eggs you have earned at the end of a level remain visible so you can check and compare how you went.
- Added “Coyote time” when falling from a floor. This lets you keep walking for a fraction of a second before you start to fall.
- Trees start to disappear slightly later, so you don’t accidentally run into the invisible trunk!
- Clucky now flaps when falling from a floating island.
- Controller stick deadzone implemented to prevent accidental “flick backs” while navigating.
- Input buffers are now in real time, instead of game speed scaled time.
- Ducks now quack in the menu.
- Menu audio now changes volume based on the camera’s location.
Bug Fixes
- Bug from the stream! We fixed the “dash-die” bug that crashed the game twice during our first gameplay stream. Turned out to be nothing to do with dashing, and everything to do with unequipping an item.
- Scoreboards now show the correct rank numbers and no longer show duplicates.
- Cannon stars now show the correct value on online scoreboards.
- Starting Speed slider now lets you reduce values when using a controller.
- Cannon button on level select now shows correct selected state when changing levels.
- No more free trampoline jumps at the end of a cannon ride.
Performance tweaks
- Reduced the number of colliders used for small ducklings - the legs are so tiny, you weren’t ever gonna hit them anyways.
- Object pool initial allocation tweaks to reduce over allocation as well as reduce mid-run pool expansion.
Hotfix V0.47
- Fixed cannon enable bug
- Now displaying the items you have equipped on the end of game screen.
- Missions now display the amount of eggs rewarded when complete.
