Another Generic Space Shooter Patch Notes — March 29, 2024

Mostly some powerup tuning to even out the playing field between powerups, focusing on the removal of most lures and punishing abusing infinite healing
Settings
- added the ability to make the bullet cover black in addition to the other options
Modifiers
Final Trial
- now disables all other modifiers and enables all unlocked powerups
Powerups
Drain Shot
- now creates a projectile that needs to be caught in order to gain the benefits
- killing enemies only grants healing, catching the new projectile without killing an enemy reduces the cooldown and returns the powerup now
- failing to kill an enemy will no longer cause any self damage
Hivemind
- there are now diminishing returns for each use of the powerup
Space Strike
- adjusted the targeting sprite
Boom Buddies
- fixed an issue where swapping powerups while the powerup was active would put a cooldown on the other slot
Flashback
- you no longer fire bullets at all enemies on use
- the invulnerability gained on use has been significantly reduced
- you now activate a short period of time slow if you didn't heal using the rewind
- you now have to go through a brief period of end lag if you healed from the rewind
Suspicious Substance
- now additionally increases blink distance
- now additionally decreases blink cooldown
- now additionally increases bullet fire rate
Cheesy Goodness
- decreased the speed of the cheese pot by about 50%
- decreased cooldown from 12 seconds to 9 seconds
- decreased duration from 15 seconds to 3 seconds
- increased damage from 2 damage/frame to 8 damage/frame
- the pool of cheese now destroys bullets
- the pool of cheese is no longer a lure
- removed the manual detonation on the pot of cheese
- reduced time until the cheese spills from the pot by about 75%
Gem of Strength
- reduced the time gained from getting a kill from 1/4th of a second to 1/6th of a second
Gem of Sacrifice
- decreased cooldown from 20 seconds to 14 seconds
- you now lose the powerup if you take damage while it's active
- removed the kill tracking from the powerup entirely
- losing the powerup while it's active will result in an effect that damages every enemy
- you can now stop the powerup early and begin it's cooldown
Gambler's Fallacy
- no longer fires a projectile regardless of the roll
- the dice have completely new effects
[1] consume the powerup and heal 25% of health, with no effect at max health
[2] fire a set of dice that create a shocking tripwire to damage enemies as they travel
[3] summon a set of revolving dice to fire additional bullets at enemies for a brief period
[4] conjure a set of dice the will move outward, damaging enemies and destroying bullet in their path
[5] fire a barrage of exploding dice forward
[6] create a set of dice that will revolve around you, fire lasers outward as they do so
Widow's Web
- removed the slowing effect
Crooked Deal
- decreased cooldown from 11 seconds to 9 seconds
- now fires a single card
- the card now has piercing properties
- the card now has a set damage value at 50 damage/frame
- the cards effects have been altered
dealing damage with the card recharges the cooldown faster
enemies killed with the card create a shattering effect
dealing damage with the card spawns bees
while dealing damage, the card moves slower
Alarm Clock
- there are now diminishing returns for each use of the powerup
Lightning Rod
- the lightning rod no longer lures enemies
- the lightning rod no longer spends charges if no enemies are near it
- increased damage of each strike from 75 damage to 125 damage
Refire Rounds
- bullets no longer gain increased potency from hitting an enemy
- increased bullet damage bonus from 2x damage to 3x damage
- removed the ricochet effect from the bullet entirely
- bullets are refired once after hitting an enemy or after hitting the arena border
Ice Machine
- decreased bullet damage multiplier from 3x damage to 2x damage
- increased duration from 5 seconds to 7 seconds
- increased cooldown from 11 seconds to 12 seconds
Cross Beams
- increased damage of each beam from 12 damage/frame to 16 damage/frame
- the beams now spin around you
Jalapeno Popper
- formerly known as the Jalapeno Bomb
- there is no longer a duration attached to the powerup
- the jalapeno is no longer a lure
- the jalapeno splits into 3 smaller jalapenos upon exploding
- the jalapeno splits 5 times total
- base explosion damage increased from 750 damage to 1000 damage
- explosion damage scales with jalapeno splits
- the explosions now delete bullets
- increased time the jalapeno travels before exploding
- decreased rate at which the jalapeno slows down
- you can now manually detonate the jalapeno
Table
- the table no longer reflects bullets, it just deletes bullets
- removed the sweet spot that didn't work anyways
- you now throw the table
Tactical Penguin
- adjusted the targeting sprite
- there is no longer a duration attached to the powerup
- the targeting reticle no longer acts as a lure
- increased number of airstrikes from 1 to 4
- decreased damage of the explosion from 5250 damage to 250 damage
- decreased distance away from the user the targeting reticle spawns
- decreased time before the penguin hits the targeting reticle
- enemies near the targeting reticle when the penguin strikes are now frozen
- the explosion now additionally creates shatter shards
Egg Cannon
- increased fire rate from about 1/2 second to 1/4 second
- decreased damage of the egg from 350 damage to 200 damage
- decreased damage of the shells from 25 damage to 15 damage
- increased the velocity of the egg by about 50%
- the eggs will now automatically detonate if they will not hit anything
Line of Fire
- adjusted the targeting sprite
Engine Coolant
- now additionally decreases blink cooldown
- now additionally increases blink distance
Yummy Takoyaki
- when a piece of takoyaki absorbs a projectile, it now has a cooldown based on the number of takoyaki the player has
Cup of Coffee
- now capped at 50% powerup cooldown reduction
