Another Generic Space Shooter Patch Notes — October 26, 2023

More new stuff and a lot of tuning adjustments and reworks to try and keep things fun, but fair.
Ship Selection:
- added 4 new ship frames
- added 4 new ship colors
- adjusted purple and gray colors to be a little lighter
- added the ability to change slightly how your bullet looks with a toggle
Player:
- slightly adjusted bullet visuals and collision
- adjusted how bullet aim works
- checks on creation for an enemy to constantly track
- no longer checks every couple of frames if it doesn't have a target
- it only misses if it's target wasn't there when it was created or if it's target died
- checks on creation for an enemy to constantly track
- freeze shatter shard damage decreased from 50 damage to 25 damage
- adjusted the collision mask of all fire
Powerups:
Incinerator Drone:
- adjusted how the coloring works on the drone
Cannon Comrades:
- decreased homing value for bullets shot from the cannons from 1 to 0
- adjusted how the coloring works on the cannons
Hivemind:
- additionally activates upon use
Boom Buddy:
- changed name to Boom Buddies
- changed tagline
- now spawns 10 in a circle formation instead of 1
- no longer has health
- no longer applies the sauce debuff when killed
- can infinitely absorb bullets until destroyed
- no longer applies the sauce debuff when killed
- no longer fires bullets when hit
- explodes when an enemy comes near
- decreased explosion size by ~1/2
- explosion damage decreased from 2750 to 250
- explosion now also applies a corrosion debuff to enemies
Kettle Cannons:
- changed the kernels to become reskinned bullets instead
- kernels have a homing value of 2
- instead of exploding randomly or on a kill, all kernels explode
- decreased firing delay when fully spun up from 2 frames to 3 frames
Strike!:
- increased cooldown refresh threshold from 5 to 10
- increased size of the bowling ball by ~33%
Sploda Can:
- failing to throw the soda can no longer damages the player
- explosion damage from failing to throw the soda can increased from 3500 to 6000
- this increases the damage over time after the explosion from 2 damage/frame to 3 damage/frame

Gem of Void:
- adjusted how the coloring works on the void
Gas Grenade:
- duration decreased from 12 seconds to 4 seconds
- stink cloud linger duration decreased from 6 seconds to 4 seconds
- stink cloud damage decreased from 3 damage/frame to 2 damage/frame
Alarm Clock:
- additionally activates upon use
Horrific Belch:
- decreased the damage of the projectile from 100 damage/frame to 50 damage/frame
Frosted Icing:
- icing is now destroyed when it shatters a bullet
- reduced number of shards created when shattering a bullet from 10 to 8
- reduced trail duration from 5.5 seconds to 2.5 seconds
Stink Blink:
- blink clone linger duration decreased from 8 seconds to 5 seconds
- stink cloud damage decreased from 3 damage/frame to 2 damage/frame
Ceiling Fan:
- adjusted how the coloring works on the fan
- adjusted the sprite of the fan
Spin Dig:
- increased speed when passing through an enemy from 1 unit to 2 units
Bottle Rocket:
- changed tagline
- target is no longer chosen via distance, but by what's closest to where you're looking
- no longer charges up, now immediately launches
- base speed decreased from 35 units to 15 units
- now only has a single explosion
- damage increased from 2500 damage to 3500 damage
- the distance-based chain explosions that follow have been removed
- damage increased from 2500 damage to 3500 damage
- after the explosion, shrapnel-like projectiles are released in the direction the rocket was traveling
Synergies:
- adjusted internally how they work for both performance improvements and easier updates later
Laser Beam + Cannon Comrades:
- reduced the number of Cannon Comrades created from 5 to 4
Health Regen + Hero's Cape:
- heal from Health Regen while Hero's Cape is inactive reduced from 100% to 75%
- increased bullet homing while Hero's Cape is active from 2 to 5
Stop Watch + Spin Dig:
- drills no longer gain bonus damage from a time slow
- the drills no longer do damage while time is slowed
- decreased damage of the lasers from 12 damage per frame to 2 damage per frame
- increased the spread of the lasers
Drain Shot + Magical Shards:
- increased cooldown of Magical Shards while synergy is active from 10 seconds to 30 seconds
Acid Reflux + Horrific Belch:
- bullets fired from the player now require Acid Reflux to be active to destroy bullets
- bullets fired while Acid Reflux is active now only apply corrosion on death
- increased the spread of the belch projectiles by ~10 degrees
- belch projectiles additional corrosion decreased from 5 corrosion/frame to 2 corrosion/frame
Space Strike + Line Of Fire:
- decreased the number of airstrikes spawned by ~78%
Seek Saws + Frosted Icing:
- duration of icing trail left by saws reduced from 6 seconds to 1 second
- reduced number of shards created for shattering a bullet from 15 to 10
- frequency of icing trail left by saws reduced from 3 frames to 10 frames
- saws now create icing trail pieces individually, alternating between the saws
Boom Buddies + High Voltage:
- the plushies no longer turn and face towards enemies while firing
Kettle Cannons + Mega Microwave:
- kettles no longer fire double the kernels when shooting
Cheesy Goodness + BBQ Sauce:
- bullets fired now have a unique sprite
- bullets fired now also have a 1.5x size multiplier in addition to their increased potency
Atomic Knife + Atom's Apple:
- heal from Atom's Apple decreased from 100% to 50%
Sploda Can + Ice Machine:
- Sploda Can cooldown reduction from killing a frozen enemy reduced by about 50%
Gem Of Finality + Glitch Heart:
- heal from Glitch Heart while Gem of Finality is inactive decreased from 100% to 50%
Particle Wave + Beam Blade:
- Particle Wave projectiles no longer recieve a 2x damage bonus
Deadly Sneeze + Allergy Pills:
- heal from Allergy Pills decreased from 100% to 50%
Modifiers:
- All Together will now grant you a synergistic powerup that is unlocked and enabled when you pick up a powerup
- adjusted unlock requirements for All Together
- now unlocks when the catalog is opened
- can no longer be acquired by using the same synergy repeatedly
- increased number of synergies needed to unlock from 10 to 30
- now unlocks when the catalog is opened
- adjusted unlock requirements for Forever Alone
- now unlocks when the catalog is opened
- can no longer be acquired by using the same synergy repeatedly
- increased number of synergies needed to unlock from 5 to 15
- now unlocks when the catalog is opened
- if you have All Together and/or Forever Alone unlocked, it will become locked again
- if you have purchased them, you will be refunded 50 tickets each
- you can unlock them by opening the catalog while satisfying the requirements above

Bug Fixes:
- fixed an issue where a weird audio pop would happen while playing at random
- fixed an issue where the glow color the powerups had on the field when it was a possible synergy was based on the ship selected and not the color of the ship
- made the description of Sinister Sunbeam clearer
- made the description of Odorant clearer
- fixed an issue where the Safety Circle special wave would rarely cause a crash when completed
- fixed an issue for the following powerups that resulted in a larger collision box than intended, but adjusted the collision box to compensate
