Bugfix Update #39 - Worker Management Fixes, Stability Improvements
Infection Free Zone News — June 20, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Greetings, Survivors!
This bugfix update took us a little bit longer than we hoped. But it was important for us to fix as many critical bugs as possible. You should find Infection Free Zone more stable after this update. Whether we are talking about quests, worker management, performance, or crashes. All those areas should see noticeable improvements.
But of course, we keep on analyzing all the feedback and bug reports. We will do our best to improve the Infection Free Zone even further. Thank you for playing our game and showing that you care about it!
Worker Management - New Location
Other than fixing bugs related to Worker Management systems, we have decided to change the location of the whole Dropdown Menu. The settings weren't the proper place for two reasons:
- It was easy to miss when starting a new game,
- The settings are global and affect all your games.
That's why we have moved it to Game Customization, where it fits way better. It only affects the current save now (so you can have different worker management systems across different games). And it can still be changed in the middle of the game. To do so, you have to:
- Go to the Escape Menu.
- Select "Customize" from the list.
- Change the worker management system from the dropdown menu.

The new Priority system still remains optional. You can use the previous Manual system if you find it more comfortable to use.
Changelog
- Added a new transmission that informs about the option of using an Alarm.
- Added ammo to the tank that can be found on convoys.
- Updated the translations and some text descriptions.
- Updated pop-up for Unsupported Saves and added "Read More" button redirecting to a Steam Guide.
- Updated the Worker Assignment System and moved it from Settings to the Game Customization window.
- Updated the Tooltips in the Priority Panels to display more detailed info about MAX Workers.
- Updated the animation of the Transmission Panel warnings.
- Updated the building demolition algorithms upon the game start. The demolished buildings are going to be different now, when starting a new game on the same map repeatedly.
- Decreased the number of workers needed to repair the vehicle by 50% and slightly reduced the time needed for the vehicle repair.
- Disabled the Alarm feature when playing with the Manual Worker Assignment System. It will come back, but this feature requires further improvements before that happens. It's still available with the Priority System.
- Fixed Workers not remembering the priority of the Forrester Hut, Sawmill, and Repairmen Shop buildings after Save/Load.
- Fixed incorrect Max Workers values when switching from Priority to Manual system.
- Fixed an incorrect Workers Management system when loading older saves.
- Fixes incorrect Worker numbers when loading older saves.
- Fixed alerts about modded games appearing after a crash, even with no mods present.
- Fixed missing parameters from new Research descriptions.
- Fixed mission markers sometimes appearing on destroyed buildings.
- Fixed some issues with the flow of reclaiming the Purifier Zone.
- Fixed Squads sometimes not entering buildings when clicking on their corresponding marker icons.
- Fixed Farms with irregular outline shapes after save/load.
- Fixed some icons having incorrect positions in the panels.
- Fixed some save files not loading up after migrating with Convoys.
- Fixed the Growling Caller mission not ending properly. Still, this mission might remain stuck on older saves. If you really want to get rid of it, you can open the console commands with "~" and type "EnableCheats" followed by "CompleteActiveMissions". This should conclude all the active missions.
- Fixed APC not using the Machine Gun properly at close range.
- Fixed Squads receiving damage from Explosives when staying in buildings, despite Friendly Fire turned off.
- Fixed the animal hunting mission not updating properly when running over the animals.
- Fixed some rare occurrences of buildings with unique geometry missing entrances.
- Fixed all the explosives to have a tradable value for the Merchant.
- Fixed some of the new weapons and active items, like grenades, mines, and mortars, to have a dismantling value.
- Fixed potential errors caused by minefields.
- Fixed some weapons showing incorrect % damage falloff modifier with Squads that had a sharpshooter perk.
- Introduced a set of stability changes that should reduce the number of crashes and exceptions occurring in the game.
By the way, we have also recently updated the Map Editor tool. It should now allow the modification of the 5x5 maps. Let us know how it works for you! Have fun, Survivors! Thank you once again for playing our game and helping us improve it.
Best regards,
Jutsu Games Team
