Era of Survival Patch Notes — December 11, 2020
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.

Hello Everyone,
This build mainly focuses on fixing bugs found across various gameplay elements (Construction, placement, game -> server optimizations to name a few). This build doesn't bring new big features, instead it's all about smoothing gameplay.
Have a look at everything that's changed:
- I decided to retire the Decorative logs and Turnips, the logs contribute to fluctuating frame rates and the turnips are losing their place in the game's natural ecosystem with every new build we publish. Unfortunately, the turnips have become too foreign to the rest of the game objects.
- Resized in-game chat section on the server settings page
- Saving inventory optimized to fix rare occasions where the latest inventory items are not saved when force-quitting
- Adjusted rain intervals and changed the rain color
- When you cast your hook into the water, the splash didn't always splash
- Fixed bug where all other player names were 'JMG' and their armor would be invisible
- Fixed a bug where whilst holding a bow and using the inventory, you would hear the bow cancel sound play
- When using any actions in the inventory, the items will now first be removed before the result is received (When you Clean a fish, instead of getting the fish fillets and then giving the fish, now you will give the fish and then get the fish fillets)
- Fixed a bug where on rare occasions the Hammer tool could be used to pick up anyone's construction parts, where you should only be able to use it to pick up your own construction parts
- There is now an 800ms limit before you can close your backpack from the time you opened it. This buffer exists to ensure the server and game finished syncing.
- New Cheat: Teleport feature. This is currently restricted to server moderators who can find the correct info within the game server (through the Dev view hidden page). Soon this will be released so that you can teleport to others (or setpoints) that can be teleported to in creative mode or through a flag in the server settings.
- Wall Lights and Fires are now brighter
- "Door locked!" Notify when you try and open a door of which you don't have the key
- Fixed a bug where loading different worlds could leave the Creative mode and Instacraft toggles on the server out of sync
- The settings page is currently undergoing work so that we can introduce key-mapping. But for this build, we have disabled pages for input, sounds, graphics, and the survival guide as they are not ready.
- We tweaked how fish will battle when you try and fish them. You will have to subdue them a little more to reel them in
- Adjusted snapping construction parts, they should not interfere so easily with one another now
- Various minor system adjustments and internal simplifications bring a 10 - 20fps increase, depending on the system. This is to allow lower-end computers to enjoy the game.
Sadly there wasn't enough time to bring a new feature as well, but I felt that these fixes will make an immediate difference when you play. So enjoy them whilst I work on the next best idea. In the mean time, thank you for following Era, thank you for your time and thank you for the support :)
Cheers,
Jean
