Zed Zone MOD Support — Built-in Editor, Steam Workshop Integration, and
ZED ZONE Patch Notes — May 29, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Survivors,
The MOD support for Zed Zone is now officially live.
After a long period of testing and iteration, the MOD system has finally matured enough for a proper announcement. You can now use the built-in in-game editor to create mods for firearms, melee weapons, ammunition, food, masks, and many other item types, then upload them directly to the Steam Workshop with one click.
Players can also subscribe to mods through the Steam Workshop, or manually place mod files into the game's save folder.

Collection Packs that bundle multiple mods together
Each category supports both adding entirely new items and replacing vanilla assets for skins or full reworks.
\
Workshop subscriptions take effect automatically.
You can also place .zedmod files or extracted mod folders into the corresponding subdirectories inside the Mods/ folder.
The MOD Manager in the main menu allows individual mods to be enabled or disabled. Mods are enabled by default, and item ID conflicts are automatically reassigned internally.

Main Menu → MOD Editor
The editor includes four main panels for editing parameters, textures, previews, and localization.
You can import an existing vanilla item as a template with one click, modify fields, select texture regions, add translations, save, test, and then publish directly to the Steam Workshop using the upload window.
The system supports the same 10 languages as the base game. Missing translations automatically fall back to default values.
\
Every mod category has its own documentation covering:
Field definitions
Texture regions
Debugging suggestions
Workflow examples

Special thanks to several early community creators who provided feedback and created mods during testing — thank you all.
If there are weapons, food items, ammunition types, or gameplay balance changes you'd like to add to the game, feel free to try the MOD Editor and upload your creations to the Workshop.
In the future, with permission from the original authors, we may bundle high-quality community mods into officially credited collection packs and integrate them directly into the base game.
