This update brings major improvements to gameplay, visuals, and stability — plus full Steam Deck support!
Highlights
🎮 Overhauled camera with smoother movement, reduced sway, and better aiming
🚗 Experimental drifting added — hold the drift key to slide cars
🤖 Improved enemy AI and fixed multiple combat issues
🎥 Camera now starts behind Yasuke instead of top-down
💀 First boss now has a proper death animation
🌍 UI Localisation
🕹️ Controller menu navigation added
💻 Fully supports Steam Deck
🎮 Gameplay & Mechanics
Overhauled camera system with reduced sway, improved responsiveness, and fixed clipping issues
Cars can now drift by holding the drift key (experimental drifting added)
Weapons are now more accurate while moving
Enemies on the motorway can now move and attack properly
Enemy AI improvements across multiple levels
First boss now features a proper death animation
Level instantly reloads after Game Over, with a short on-screen message:
“Game Over – Try again, Samurai”Added countdown timer before automatically starting the next level
Added loading screen overlay after completing each level
🧠 AI & Enemies
Enemy navigation and combat behavior improved
NPCs now spawn with a visual puff of smoke
🎥 Camera
Reduced camera sway in first-person view
More responsive camera aiming
Fixed handgun clipping through the camera (partially resolved)
🎨 Graphics & Art
Improved subsurface scattering with a toggle in Graphics Settings
Added lightmaps to all chapters for improved visuals and performance
Streamlined UI across all levels
⚙️ Performance & Engine
Graphics settings are now correctly applied when loading a new level
New Screen-space reflection system added that can be toggled in the menu
🔊 Audio
Explosion sounds from destroyed motorcycles can now be heard
Fixed sword sound effect
Fixed buggy enemy sounds
Gates now have sound effects when opening
Destructible objects now have sound effects
Fixed loud/clipping voice line at the end of Chapter 9
Fixed overly loud audio in Level 1
🗺️ Level Fixes & Improvements
Level 1
Fixed holes in jumping section floor
Added more bicycles to the forest area
Fixed inability to prone under the obstacle in the tutorial level
Driving Level
Moved Oda’s collider to allow dialogue to finish before level transition
🌍 Localization & Accessibility
Added translation text support for all additional languages (except Arabic, Persian, Hebrew due to Right to left script)
🕹️ Platform & Input
Full Steam Deck support added
Menu navigation now works with controllers
