Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Before we get started with the blog, we’d like to highlight the announcement we made last week.

Thank you all for the kind messages we got following this announcement! We hope to bring you news on our next steps sometime soon. For now, enjoy a new Gallipoli blog!
Cosmetic Customization
Hello everyone!
In Gallipoli, we're expanding on the cosmetics system we introduced with Isonzo. There will now be more item categories that will be modifiable:
Subfaction (where applicable)
Upper body
Equipment
Lower body
Face/Body type
Headgear
Facial Hair
Facial Accessories
As there’s quite a bit to how these options work together, let’s go through the list one by one!

Subfactions
While Gallipoli is about the battles between the British Empire and Ottoman Empire, there are several subfactions of the British Empire to choose from: the British, the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) and the British Indian Army, with some limitations depending on class selection. More subfactions will be introduced for the Ottoman and British Empires later down the line.
Your selection of subfaction and role then determines the gear and clothing pool from which you can then start building your look. Many options like tunics, undershirts and equipment and headgear are shared across multiple roles. Uncommon gear and clothing is available and limited to specific role types, notably officers and specialised troops.

The look you end up with will be saved to the subclass/role you were editing. With one setup for each role, 9-10 roles for each faction, and the multiple subfactions, there's a lot of dressing to do!
Keep in mind that subfactions are reflective of the maps you are fighting on. For example, Kut-Al-Amara will see only Indian and British troops represented for the British faction. This means that if you don’t want to run the default equipment, you should have your customized looks ready to go – or quickly throw something together while waiting for the battle to commence.

Gearing up
Once you’ve selected your subfaction and class, you can get into the individual equipment pieces available to you.
Headgear
You can select a series of headgear types per (sub)faction. These include headgear with different cap badges, wear/tear and angles at which they're worn, as well as other details . Iconic pieces of headgear seen on this front are available (where applicable!) including the famous Wolseley sun-helmets, AIF slouch hats, Punjabi turbans, and Ottoman Bashlyks, Kabalaks, and Kalpaks.

Upper Body
Tunics, shirts and other options will be available in this option. These may vary between neat tunics, tunics with undone buttons, undershirts with long sleeves or rolled sleeves. Further options like whether the equipment is worn high or low are available particularly with the Ottoman forces. The British forces will have access to field modified undershirt variants like those commonly seen in photographic references from the time.

Lower Body
Everything trousers, leg-wrap, boot, and/or shorts related! We have a range of items available for the lower body which include some really interesting looks, unique to these fronts. There's different ways of wearing legwraps as well as the option of shorts for British troops.

Equipment
There's a wide range of equipment available across both factions and variants of said equipment. This may include lighter setups – a belt, bayonet and some pouches – to the full kit: pouches, bayonet, entrenching tools, packs – the lot!
We've put a lot of effort into creating the correct kit & gear with both factions, with the British having a wide selection of P1903, P1908 and Sam Browne options and beyond. Similarly the Ottomans have a wide variety of their German type field equipment, as well as the many different ways of wearing them. Ottoman troops also have some particularly fancy bandoliers in their stores too.

Body
A series of body & face types are available. With new details including body hair, teeth variation, and sunburn being something we have included.

Facial Hair & Items
Across all factions, a medley of facial hair and facial items will be available for you to adorn your mug with! Historically influenced moustaches, beards, glasses, goggles and of course tobacco pipes & cigarettes. Smoking is dangerous, but participating in a battle is far worse!

Combined, there's a smorgasbord of looks and fits to achieve! as well as in game unlocks which will help fill out your wardrobe further.
We aim to allow as much freedom as possible with the character customisation but there will be some items where compatibility might not be entirely historical, particularly when considering subfactions. There will be some combinations of outfit that can't be used together; these are few and far between, but an important consideration in our approach.
As with Isonzo, we'll expand the number of items across all categories beyond launch! However, this is a topic for another day.
