Underspace Patch Notes — April 10, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Hello, starchasers! It's our second year annivesary for Underspace's early access release, and we've been barreling towards the full 1.0 release at a breakneck pace, with only a few major tasks left before we enter our beta for that! The cats are excited.

Now, we've had a lot of new blood coming in since last month's big Steam sale, as well as a ton of work done on our multiplayer beta branch since it launched a little over a month ago! When that announcement was first made, I laid out a variety of missing features, and I'm sure many players are under the impression it's remained that way. That's not the case, of course. We've already had plenty of madcap space adventures together, including chasing storms and getting trapped in otherworldly space prisons!

You can easily opt into our multiplayer beta at any time by going to your game's properties, and selecting an available beta branch from the beta tab.

So, in the interests of getting more people to try out our multiplayer beta branch (which again, can easily be opted into) under the game's beta settings in steam, here's what you've missed:
We've a working server browser and public hosting options now! You can also invite your friends via Steam, and, eventually, dedicated servers can have crossplay with users on GOG. You no longer need to forward your ports at all, and Steam players can natively and easily play with each other.

A huge amount of syncing has been done for multiplayer, including attacks, missions, bosses, and pretty much anything short of NPCs. There's also a ton of new settings for server owners to try out. Multiplayer also now allows for mod lists to be shared across player, passworded private servers, and more!

I've also overhauled the game's animation system, adding in poses for photomode, and things like the ability to see other players and NPCs sitting in chairs.

Finally, there are a ton of new features beyond this for singleplayer and multiplayer, such as new interiors, the starting bits of voice acting, and even pets that you can place in your cockpit and house!

Multiplayer is, of course, a free update for all players. As stated above, you can opt into it at any time. Otherwise, we'll see you for the 1.0 release, which we're aiming to release this year! As I've said, frightfully little is left, namely voice acting and NPC sync in multiplayer.
