Uncrewed Patch Notes — April 11, 2025
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
It has come time to announce that Uncrewed 2, a sequel and a successor to Uncrewed, is currently active development!
While a direct sequel to the original game, Uncrewed 2 takes a different approach to many gameplay aspects of the game and tries to marry the formula of classic RTS with unit design abilities more closely.
Base Building
Uncrewed 2 features a more traditional approach to base building - the player is free to build anywhere on the map with only the help of a builder unit, eliminating the requirement of special build pads. The variety of structure types has also been expanded, including the addition of effective defensive structures.
Maps
Map design is also very different in Uncrewed 2. Due to more emphasis on base building in the game, the maps feature more open areas, they are easier to navigate and have distinct levels of elevation to accommodate the new vision system.
Gameplay
The gameplay has been greatly streamlined and brought in line with the feel of more traditional RTS. For example, the reliance on weapon ammunition and energy for movement has been done away with. The vision system has also been greatly expanded upon with small ground units unable to see up large cliffs.
Unit Designer
The unit designer has seen many significant changes, with the most the prominent being the block sculpting system. It is now much more robust and completely integrated into the unit designer itself. You can change the shapes of multiple blocks at once without the need of a separate screen or long lists of custom modules.

Weapon Crafting
One of the key new additions in Uncrewed 2 is the weapon crafting system. Unlike in the original, where the player has a selection of non-customizable weapons, all the weapons in Uncrewed 2 can be crafted using a weapon designer.
You can now mix and match ammo types, firing mechanisms and barrel lengths, all of which affects important weapon characteristics - firing ranges, firing rates, damage output, status effects, etc.
Development and Feedback
Thank you everyone for supporting the original Uncrewed! If you are interested you can wishlist Uncrewed 2. It is slated for release sometime in 2026. It is expected to come out as a full release without an early access phase.
