The Mortuary Assistant Movie Trailer
The Mortuary Assistant Patch Notes — January 17, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Hey everyone! I'm bringing my head up for air from Paranormal Activity development to announce something that is absolutely unreal to me!
The Mortuary Assistant movie has been in production for a bit and I know I've mentioned it but haven't really shared much (film is new to me so didn't want to share when I shouldn't) but now the movie is coming to theatres February 13th!!!
Check out the trailer on Dread's YouTube.
Thank You!
Obviously, I'm beyond excited. When I started my indie game development journey almost 8 years ago, I didn't know how to program. I came from an art background, so I had to be self-taught. There were many failures along the way and I could have never imagined where things would wind up. This is a truly emotional and momentous occasion for me and all involved in the film.
The movie is directed by Slapface director Jeremiah Kipp who has become a close friend to me and I could not be more grateful for the dedication and love he and the entire cast & crew brought to the film. I was fortunate enough to be on set the entire time and work with some amazing people.
I hope this isn't the last time I get to be involved in a film. It was a life changing experience for me and I hope you all go see it in theaters February 13th. It will release on Shudder some time after.
I plan on doing a stream soon on my twitch soon to just talk about the experience and answer any questions just for the fun of it because I understand this is a very rare experience for an average person who made a game.
On that note, thank you all so much for your support of the game and of my work both past and future. I truly love all of you and could not thank you all enough. If you've been here since The Subject, you know how far things have come. Thank you again and go see the movie!!!
Endless love & gratitude,
Brian Clarke
