Demo Update!
The Last Salvage Squad Patch Notes — February 19, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
The demo version of The Last Salvage Squad has been updated, and sub-weapons are now unlocked! Various other elements have also been updated, so please be sure to read this post.

A vending machine-like device has been placed in the Cogrina Unit's secret base.
Using this machine, you can collect resource chips (gear-shaped items) obtained by defeating enemies during stages.
This allows you to implement a variety of sub-weapons and additional functions.

Sub-weapons can be equipped after unlocking. However, there is a cost cap; in this screenshot, the cap is 600. Therefore, equipping all three—HoloDecoy, AddBooster, and StickyBomb—will max out the cap.
Furthermore, with the addition of systems like sub-weapons, the mechanics for increasing Cogrina Unit lives have been significantly changed.
The new system allows you to use Resource Chips at vending machines to increase your lives. In Normal Mode, upgrades purchased at vending machines are permanent. In Hard Mode, if you are defeated, your lives will decrease for the next sortie, but you can repurchase them.
Note: The Arena stage included in the demo version cannot be cleared, meaning Resource Chips cannot be retrieved. However, due to the stage's layout, large quantities of chips accumulate. Therefore, this stage comes standard with an effect that slightly restores health when collecting Resource Items.
Collect Resource Chips to enhance allies (lives), weapons, and functions—making the gameplay more fitting for the name ‘The Last Salvage Squad’!

Sub-weapons can be used with the R button (or G key). They are used in the order they were equipped and cannot be selected. Enhancements like jump boost or armor reinforcement take effect simply by equipping them. You only carry one of each sub-weapon. There's no space to carry more than that!
Other updates included in this release are as follows.
【Update Details】
・Removed the system where picking up Resource Chips increased extra lives
・Updated the tutorial to reflect the new Resource Chip collection system and the addition of sub-weapons
・Clear times are now measured for each difficulty level on all stages. These can be checked on the Mission Select screen.
