The Big Con Patch Notes — December 22, 2021

This post is specifically about a potential bug for people who may have picked it up earlier, and are loading save data from before Patch v1.1.24 (launched Tuesday December 14th, 2021).
We've had a small (but still concerning) number of reports from some folks who had game saves from prior to our last update, where they are hitting crashes when opening the notebook, inventory or menu. We are aware of this bug and have been troubleshooting around it; and we are happy to say that we think it has wriggled close enough to the surface for us to figure out what is causing it... right before we shut down for the holidays. It is a DEEP bug, a very NASTY bug, but we are on it!
We want to get this tested, up and running to you as soon as possible, but we've also encouraged our team to take time to be with family and recharge over the next two weeks. Additionally, we wouldn't want to rush a patch out to you that we haven't had the time to fully test -- which we know you'll understand.
This bug does not seem to be affecting people with new saves in our reproductions. But, if you had a save from before the patch and go back to it now, there is a small chance you may hit this issue. We also don't want to encourage you to wipe your game, especially when we feel so close to a fix being ready.
So for now, we wanted to fully communicate to you what we know, and promise you it’s at the top of our list to deliver when we return to the office in the first week of January. We really appreciate your understanding, and look forward to making sure this is taken care of on our return!
