Ruin News — February 19, 2022
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Hey everyone!
Progress on the next update is well underway, however It's going to take a bit of time, here is why.
Current state of the game
The game is currently in the Alpha stage of its development, these updates are quick, and were meant to get a feel for the game and mechanics.
Over the next two updates the game will transition to beta, which it will remain in for quite some time, these updates will take significantly longer, each update will require more polish and work.
This is why version 9 of the alpha will take longer than the rest, and because it is two patches merged into one.
While developing version 9, the mechanics being developed would mostly be utilized by the next patch to come after it, and it just made more sense to combine the two patches.
Oh, I should mention this will break saves again sorry!
Pricing
The plan has always been to increase the game price, up to a maximum, when new content comes out that justifies its new cost, you should pay what the game is currently worth, not what it will be worth!
That being said... the current price is $4.99 which is going to increase to $7.99.
(The price change won't occur till after the next update launches!)
Multi-Language support
Just a quick note, the next update will include the option to change the game to a different language, although this will be machine translated, it should open the game up to more people, leave a comment of any languages you would like to use or see in the game.
I hope you are as excited as I am to see the future of Ruin!
