Retro Commander Patch Notes — May 29, 2026

- New Unit "Jammer Tank": a take that is capable of jamming enemy radar. Can be countered by an Omni-Radar.
- Game Setup Option: option to also give all factions the "Complete Tech" at game start (overrides the default).
- FAST Tournaments: there is now a popup asking to go to the next game once it becomes available.
- Tournament Awards: awards are now given out also if only one human player is in the game. They were previously only given out if at least 2+ human players with different ranking were in a game.
- Default Map: updated again based on feedback. Coastlines and plateaus are now better configured.
- AI Actions: the AI was producing a lot of actions placing bogus rally points.
- AI Base Building: AI base building improved by creating better inter-connected area.
- Refactoring: renamed "Power Grid" to "Energy" and moved a few structures there from other categories.
- Submarine Shadows: added submarine shadows for better depth perception.
- Graphics incl. Shadows: reduced texture space required for e.g. units shadows (will load faster now also).
- Graphics Fix: Alien Factory was rendering in the wrong z-Plane making units appear on top (rather than inside).
- Language: latest translations added - Thanks :-D
- Maintenance: past proguard files for Droid now also in source control.
- Maintenance: improved layout on texture atlas by using backing image height (not display-height).
- Maintenance: new iOS min. version is 15.0.
- Bugfix: file drop works properly now, even if the menu bar is open.
- Bugfix: when dragging the scenarios in the in-game editor, the selection was not updated (potentially with wrong index).
- Bugfix: searchable dropdown correctly displays the selected button if opened again.
- Bugfix: translation system didn't accept some bubble dialog texts (didn't exclude the tags when checking).
- Bugfix: image file drop wasn't working for popups (wrong offset).
- Bugfix: check added making sure all major events have an award.
- Bugfix: re-joining a game during initialization would allow to select the technology, even if not possible before.
- Bugfix: another attempt to get the Droid login back to work for some users (improved thread selection & updated sign-in options).
- Bugfix: radar jamming wasn't properly working if shroud was enabled but fog of war disabled.
- Bugfix Crashes: when running an older version and some assets were not available ('null').
