Reflex Arena Patch Notes — January 31, 2026

Hey all!
This update brings matchmaking back to life along with a bunch of quality of life (QoL) improvements.
Also will be going free to play (soon), so spread the word if you know anyone who might enjoy it.

Community:
- Added #bug-reports to discord, where players can report / upvote bugs
- Added #feedback-and-suggestions to discord, where players can report / upvote features

QoL menu:
- updated menu music
- added training to home screen to guide new players
- training maps now progress automatically through the end of map scoreboard
- server browser can now mark servers as favorites
- server browser remembers your last sorting column
QoL game:
- updated ruleset to CR2
- added player weapon zoom
- chat log is now scrollable
- mutators no longer resurrect dead players if they deal damage after dying
- floating damage text now support scaling
- smoother `r_showfps` display
- reduced default volume levels
- better default weapon bindings
- bots now change off guns with no ammo
- spectator muting option: sv_mutespecs / callvote mutespecs
QoL rendering:
- r_monitor to select output monitor
- fixed bunch of alt-tabbing issues
- allow very high resolutions on Windows (5K2K monitors)
- added borderless windowed
- default resolution now 1080p
Matchmaking/Server:
- new matchmaking system - see reflextracker.gg
- official servers back online eu central + us west + us east
- redesigned matchmaking screen with MMR display
- Dedicated server now available for Linux
- MM is one click play with skill-matched bots (bots optional)
Stability & Performance:
- numerous crash fixes
- smoother performance profiler display
- uploaded steamworks lib, newer workshop maps load correctly now
- fixed fonts not being loaded properly resulting in fallbacks in Wine
Addons:
- .effect asset file had to be changed with 64bit upgrade, if you're overriding assets in addons they will fail to load now
- PlayerSpeed widget: option to hide "ups" unit text
- PlayerSpeed/MovementKeys widgets: race-only toggle
Under the hood eng changes:
- brought engine/repo back to life
- 32bit -> 64bit exe upgrade
- updated PhysX 3.3 -> 5.0, LuaJIT, Steamworks etc (required as libs were too dated)
- new crash reporter
- new MM backend
