Big Bang Beta 2.0.9-13 (Community Feedback)
Red Eclipse Patch Notes — July 18, 2025
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
We're excited to bring you a new minor update for Red Eclipse! This release focuses on refining the gameplay experience, improving visuals, and addressing community feedback. Here’s what’s new:
The core game assets have been refreshed, including updates to actors, maps, and weapons. Several technical issues with composite textures have been resolved, particularly those that appeared after graphics resets, so visuals should now remain consistent and clear.
Gameplay mechanics have been fine-tuned: thrown weapons now take longer to reappear in your hands, making things look less weird when waiting for the next grenade or mine. Mines have been visually improved to spin on their yaw axis, making their movement more natural and easier to track.
In Gladiator mode, suicide deaths are no longer penalized, meaning less chances to end up with a negative score at the end of the match. The HUD damage shader has undergone a major rewrite, providing clearer and more responsive feedback when you take damage, so you can react faster in the heat of battle.
AI behavior has been enhanced: bots now avoid blocking the direct line of sight of their teammates and are better at recognizing friendly units, leading to more coordinated team play. A new server option, 'teamkillrelax', has been added to reduce penalties for AI team kills, making matches with bots more forgiving and enjoyable.
Additional fixes include improvements to the janitor AI’s passive behavior, ensuring they act more predictably, as well as fixing the direction they aim so you actually know they're trying to kill you. Visual effects for the visor have been upgraded, with better chroma, glitch, and blur integrations for a more immersive experience. Finally, post-process surfaces now scale according to your global scale settings, ensuring consistent visual quality across different resolutions.
