GamePatchNote Digest
Psycholog Patch Notes — June 15, 2024
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
With version 2.0 (the "Paranoia Edition"), the game is updated in several ways.
A Fleshed-Out Narrative
The addition of several shorter scenes throughout the narrative aims to subtly shift the focus of the story, highlighting the protagonist's role in the unfolding drama. More hotspots have been added to point-and-click scenes, increasing the overall level of interactivity.
Introduction of Difficulty Modes
Players can now choose between three different difficulty settings at the start of the game, affecting how clients react to dialogue during therapy sessions. In Trainee mode, your choice of words is less critical, giving you more leeway to explore different approaches. In the Licensed Professional mode (corresponding to "normal" difficulty), decisions will have a more noticeable impact on the outcome, requiring closer attention to each client's needs and responses. Finally, in Seasoned Practitioner mode, clients are harder to impress, building trust takes time, and the treatment requires precision, as the margin for error is minimal.
Dynamic Visuals
To sum up the graphical changes made in several updates since launch: the introduction of subtle motion in displayed scenes makes the oppressive, urban setting less static. Additionally, during point-and-click scenes, players can slightly move around inside the scene by moving the cursor. Several minor tweaks to the game engine aim to make scene transitions smoother.
