Narcosis News — March 30, 2017
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Slowly but steadily, the reviews are rolling out, and by and large we're pleased with the reception: it seems that many reviewers, streamers and — most importantly — players recognize and appreciate our effort to try and do something a little bit different.
One aspect that's received near-universal praise is the actor giving voice to the survivor's thoughts and fears. If you've seen one of the trailers, you've heard that captivating blend of weariness, fear and resolve. And if you've played Narcosis, you know there's more to this narration than is immediately apparent. This isn't just a survivor, but a human being.
Three years ago, when we set out to cast the role, the very first person we talked to, turned out to be absolutely perfect: former podcaster (Weekend Confirmed), indie game enthusiast, and all-around gentleman Jeff Mattas.

Jeff's performance has been called out by media from around the world, describing it as "top-notch," "on-point," and "outstanding" — and we couldn't agree more. Since coming on board, he's been working tirelessly with the team, patiently indulging a ridiculous number of rewrites and requests to get Every. Word. Right. And as it turns out, he's also one hell of a writer — he truly brought his character to life, both at the keyboard and behind the mic.

Thank you, Jeff, and all the best in moving on to bigger, better roles — many talented people gave their best to bring Narcosis to life, but you're the one to give it a voice.
