Hope the cozy autumn season is treating you well. We're so excited to announce that a new update is arriving later today that will forever change the Free Lands as you know them: The Foundations Update is out later today!
2025 has been an exciting year for Mirthwood, the Foundations Update rounds out a series of three content updates released throughout the year that enhance your life in the Free Lands, such as marriage and co-op capabilities. The Foundations Update adds a plethora of new features, such as partying at seasonal festivals, cute pets to adopt, new random encounters that alter the course of your journey based on how you react, and more — can't spoil all the surprises!
Tis’ the season of gratitude, and we are beyond grateful for all the support we have received this year. We hope this new update will make your experiences in Mirthwood even more worthwhile, and we can't wait to hear about your adventures that lie ahead!

New Festivals
Festival of Blossoms (Spring)
Summer Solstice (Summer)
All Hallows Eve (Fall)
35+ new items at festival vendors
Festival posters added to help keep track of dates
Pets
4 pets added
Pets can be purchased at Northdell Farm & the Travelling Merchant
Pets will occasionally gather resources for you (e.g. wood, meat)
Pets will help protect your farm from rats or thieves
Random Encounters
35+ random encounters added
These will spawn along roads and other places around the map
World Events
New Bandit Raid and Vermin Plague events will occur from time to time
NPCs can now pass away as a result of failed (or ignored) events or generated quests
New NPCs will arrive to replace deceased NPCs
New graveyard plaques help to track deaths
