MadMan Patch Notes — September 16, 2025
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Hello everyone,
It’s been a long time. For those who remember the launch of MadMan three years ago, I want to have a very honest conversation. And for those who are new, I want to tell you a story.
MadMan was my first game.
It was the culmination of a dream, but it was also the product of inexperience. I poured everything I had into it, but looking back, I can see its flaws with painful clarity. The truth is, I was learning as I went. I didn't know how to implement so many of the ideas I had in my head. The code was messy, the gameplay loop was unfocused, and the horror I wanted to create just wasn't there.
I've read every review you've written. The feedback was often harsh, but it was also true. The game felt unfinished and directionless because, in many ways, it was. I eventually hit a wall. I grew tired, frustrated that I couldn't figure out how to make the game I truly wanted to make. I lacked the discipline and the knowledge to push it to the finish line it deserved. The game you played was a reflection of a developer who was passionate, but still had so much to learn.
For a long time, I stepped away, convinced that MadMan was a closed chapter—a first attempt, a learning experience. But it never truly left my mind. The idea of that lonely hospital, the relentless Doctor, the flickering lights... it was a world I still believed in. And I felt I owed it to you, and to myself, to do it right.
That’s why I’m writing this today. For a long time now, I have been working in silence, not just patching the old game, but completely rebuilding MadMan from scratch.
This isn't an update. This is a resurrection.
Armed with years of new experience, a clearer vision, and the discipline I lacked before, I have torn down the old foundation and built a new one—a foundation that is clean, robust, and capable of supporting the terrifying experience I always dreamed of.
The core concept is now sharper and more focused than ever. The systems are being built with a purpose. The horror is being crafted with intent. This is the game MadMan was always supposed to be.
This is just a heads-up. A promise that something new and fundamentally better is coming. I'm not ready to show all the new features just yet, but I am incredibly proud of what it's becoming, and I can't wait to share more with you in the near future.
Thank you for being a part of this journey, even the bumpy parts. Thank you for your honesty. And I hope you’ll give this new version a chance when the time comes.
Please Follow the game and add it to your Wishlist to join me on this new chapter.
The night is coming again. And this time, we’re ready.
Sincerely,
Dewald - Solo Developer
