Jaded Patch Notes — September 23, 2024
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Hey everybody, really unfortunate news— Jaded is likely not coming out in October. We crunched as hard as possible this summer to reach all deadlines, but as game developers tend to do, we greatly underestimated exactly how much was left. If we dropped everything else and focused solely on the game, it could be finished in late October, but it’d release without much testing and zero marketing. We’ve been working on this project for so long that we don’t want to rush it out, and we hope you understand.
Ok, so when is Jaded coming out?
We are thinking early December, but aren’t dead set on announcing this as a certainty. We don’t want to make promises we can’t keep, but a release date announcement will happen at some point. As we said before, you will hear from us way more than you do now as we approach release.
Here’s some good news— our master task list is getting surprisingly small. Here’s what’s left:
- 8 more music tracks
- 5 bosses need sound
- 3 cutscenes need sound
- UI sound
- NPCs (writing + drawing + implementing)
- Bugs (currently 75% through the list)
- Credits
We’ve also noticed some confusion about our pricing changes, so let’s clear that up:
If you already own the game, you won’t have to buy the game again— the full release should come in like any other update. As mentioned previously, the game will be at a 100% discount for the first five days after release, and then will cost $4.99 from there on out.
Last important note— since the final game is different from the beta, save progress will not carry over into the final game. But don’t worry— your save file for the beta version of Jaded will not be overwritten or deleted. We’ve created a separate save locations for the beta and final release. That way, if you wish to continue playing the beta version after we push out the full release, you can download it on our itch.io page.
