Checkpoint Beta & New Gadgets Available Now
Intruder Patch Notes — March 19, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.

Agents, the time has come...
Checkpoint -- the next official map created by Superboss Games -- is now available in beta. We're incredibly excited about this one already, especially after our recent Secret Base Alpha playtests. Checkpoint is releasing today as a Beta, like we did with Mountainside 2.0 update, because there's a few kinks to work out and a few more things to add before we can truly consider this map complete.
The map itself isn't the only addition in this update. The Intruder arsenal is getting an upgrade as well, with not one but two gadgets getting introduced in Checkpoint. And to commemorate Checkpoint's release, Intruder is 50% off on Steam and XP gains are increased to 200%.
Let's get into it.
Our new map...
Checkpoint is set within a multi-level compound along the edge of the Island with a spectacular view of the coast and lively city. The Hack Objective on this mission is familiar to most but comes with a unique twist -- Over 13 Terminal Hubs to hack with the round ending goal standing at a staggering 8 Hubs for an Intruder objective win. Stealth, strategy, and clear communications are key as usual, but your team will need to adapt to high-risk infiltrations while planning around even more highly coordinated defense. To achieve those goals, Checkpoint leans into asymmetric gameplay for both the Guard and Intruder teams, who both teams have their own distinct set of tools to get the job done.
Below you'll find a scrolling gallery showing a few screenshots from Checkpoint

Checkpoint, Stealth, and New Gadgets
Checkpoint features the most asymmetrical and stealth focused gameplay of any official Intruder map to date. The Intruders arrive to the Checkpoint with a limited loadout -- for this mission, weapons are OSP (on-site procurement) and available in various locations and orange weapon crates.
Quick Smokes
To compensate for the loadout reductions our brand new gadget, the Quick Smoke, allows you to throw an on-impact instant expansion smoke grenade that produces a small but thick cloud of smoke in the blink of an eye. This rapidly deploying smoke cloud is a game changer since it's possible to obstruct sightlines, before or during a fire-fight, faster than ever. As of right now the Quick Smoke is only available on Checkpoint and limited to the Intruder team, each member spawning with eight of them.

The Surveillance Tablet
Guards have a lot of ground to cover on Checkpoint since it's one of our largest maps to date, so they've been given access to our new Surveillance Tablet gadget in order to keep control of facility. Every Guard has one in their inventory when the mission starts, and it's a highly capable tool with many features. The tablet shows a top down view of the main building and hosts some special security features to keep the place secured.

While viewing the tablet, in hand or full screen, Guards can monitor loud audio disturbances like gunshots, explosions, glass breaking and door slamming anywhere on the map via the radar. These loud noises are marked with red circles. These circles will fade overtime so it's best to view the tablet as soon as possible to pinpoint a nearby sound. You can also follow the objective status and view any Terminals that have been fully hacked. Hacked rooms will be highlighted in Red and be listed on the side of your screen. The latest Terminal hacked will be at the bottom of that list. Anytime a room is hacked the tablet will alert everyone with one in their inventory via a single beep (which isn't audible to nearby players).

The final feature, and one of the strongest, is the ability to view any security camera on the map from the tablet view while being able to pan the cameras left and right. This makes standing in security rooms a thing of the past since every Guard on the team has access to every camera right in their pocket. These cameras can be viewed while simply holding the tablet in handheld mode too -- no need to full screen!
You can also take a photo of the camera feed you're watching and send it to other teammates, just like Binoculars and the Bloon Camera. Be careful of the shutter sound emitting from the camera though, the Intruders might hear it!

As a small bonus feature, the tablet also doubles as a radio. Simply press your Radio key bind (F by default) to quickly pull out the tablet and hold Left Click like you normally would.
The Surveillance Tablet is only available on Checkpoint and can be used by both teams. While each team spawns with a tablet in their inventory, the Intruder version does not allow them to view the security cameras -- that feature is exclusive to the Guards.
With so many security cameras surveilling the area, and with them being so accessible by the Guards, Intruders may find themselves compromised. But the Quick Smoke grenade may help them escape to safety or disorient the enemy. Unlike the timed release of the regular Smoke Grenade, the Quick Smoke is an impact explosive that instantaneously creates a concealing smoke cloud on contact-- floors, walls, ceilings, enemies, and...anything else!
