Home Wars Patch Notes — May 13, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Hi everyone!
Sorry, I haven't posted any more unit photos. It's not that I've finished them; you've actually only seen a small portion of them!
I haven't created new posts for one simple reason: I've been focusing entirely on the game's development.
Being a solo developer, any unexpected issues fall to me, and I alone have to resolve them. I have to resolve any errors that arise personally, and I have to resolve them as best I can, because they can compromise the entire project.
You can see for yourself that this way of working is very stressful over long periods.
Furthermore, "Home Wars: Battlefield" is not an easy project to implement.
First of all, because it's multiplayer, and secondly, because it involves completely different units, both in terms of movement, attacks, and abilities, plus the fact that bot versions and FPS/TPS versions need to be created.
Implementing a tank is totally different from developing a battleship, a plane, a T-Rex, or a 30-meter-tall spider you can climb on like Rico in Starship Troopers.
However, here, NOBODY IS GIVING UP!
The game will come out, and it will be awesome!
Sure, it won't be the best technically, but I'll try to match it with fun gameplay and a variety of playable units.
So that's why I chose this title.
I constantly find myself struggling with two opposites: development time and the quality of the final product. These two factors are inversely proportional; they eat each other up.
If the demo comes out sooner than expected, it will be incomplete, and I fear many players will be disappointed and lose interest.
If the demo comes out too late, many players will complain about the time they had to wait for a quality that didn't exceed their expectations.
Let me give you an example.
I've spent the last five days changing the destroyer gameplay. Why?
Destroyers, especially those of WW2, were ships specialized in hunting submarines, especially using the infamous depth charges.
My problem is that depth charges are absolutely insufficient to counter fast underwater insects or enormous underwater dinosaurs, because they are slow and only have a vertical trajectory.
So I had to come up with something different, which I hope you'll appreciate.
Under the large ships, there will be turrets (like the spheres under B-17s) that will be able to fire harpoons of various sizes and types, creating a sort of "speargun" with a low rate of fire and high damage.
Were those days wasted? That's for you to decide, considering that the destroyer will already be available in the Demo.
I'll almost certainly post photos of the new version of the destroyer in the next post, so you can tell me what you think!
Many will rightly ask me, "When will the demo be available?"
I want to be honest with you, as I always have been: I don't know, but I can tell you that I'm really doing my best to shorten development time as much as possible!
I remember that in the game Overwatch, one of Torbjörn's lines perfectly reflected my thoughts on the release date of various products: "Delivery date? When it's ready." Of course, I translated what he said into the Italian version.
With "Home Wars: Battlefield," I want to make a game that allows people to think throughout their day, "Okay, it's been a bad day, but I can have fun tonight."
You won't know how many times this thought, in turn, has helped me get through the day, and I'd really like to give back for what the gaming world has given me.
All that's left is to remind you to tell your friends about the new "Home Wars: Battlefield," and that you can play it together, as it's a PvE game as well as a single-player game.
