Hammerheart Patch Notes — September 22, 2021
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Some new features have arrived to Hammerheart, and many more are underway! Early Access build 21.09.22.1 aims to bring more strategic thinking into Hammerheart, both on an individual level and across the battlefield.
Changes in build 21.09.22.1:
- Dropped enemy weapons now have a chance of being lootable. This applies both to dropped long weapons, and the weapon the enemy was wielding upon their death. Lootable weapons are highlighted in the colour of their tier (white, green, purple or gold) but will disappear after 10 seconds. If you're trying to bulk out your companions with basic weapons without rolling the weapon reward dice, this new feature will help you.
- Movement speed now depends upon the environment; paths make you faster and mud makes you slower. Expansions upon this feature are planned to be added in future locations and with future mechanics.
- Added passive blocking against arrows. If directly facing an archer, you do not need to raise your shield to block their arrows. However, a passively blocked arrow delivers twice the force of an actively blocked arrow.
- The correct block direction is now decided automatically when blocking actively, but visibility is reduced when the block button is held down.
- The focus input has been disabled, made redundant by the improved blocking input.
- Companions and enemies in shield walls now raise their shields naturally.
- Improved behaviour of enemies in shield walls and AI pathfinding in general to prevent them from getting stuck.
- You can now bring companions into Snorri's boss fight, and he has companions of his own.
- The "Proceed" UI can now be opened and closed freely after the encounter has been cleared.
- Injury icons are now diamonds rather than squares.
I am very happy to announce that in two weeks I will be working on Hammerheart full time, giving me the opportunity to release content and respond to feedback at a greater rate. Thank you very much to everyone has supported the project by playing and by leaving positive reviews. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!
