GIBZ Patch Notes — October 13, 2018

A new update for GIBZ that brings a new activity to enjoy! Along with a new weapon, hat, 10 new achievements and 2 new leaderboards to compete in. There is a lot of various fixes and improvements with the update as well, as you can see in the patch notes below.

If you've defeated the Wizard already, simply jump in and you'll find your new base on the Overworld map just east of the Church, near the Lumber Yard. In there you'll find a brand new upgrade tree you can throw your coins at. The first 100 waves are pre-set, afterwards they are randomly generated, getting harder and harder. Compete the in the new leaderboards to see who can reach the highest wave or who can clear the most total waves.
The Halloween event has also started! You can now earn the Halloween themed achievements and hats from previous years. Food crates stock candy and random houses are popping up around the Overworld Map, so dress-up and go trick-or-treating.
Patch Notes:
- New Activity - Base Defence!
- Build and defend your base from waves of enemies and bosses!
- Becomes available after beating the final boss - appears on the overworld map near the Lumber Yard
- Play it singleplayer or help out friends in online/local co-op (bases and their waves cleared are tied to the host)
- Spend coins at the workbench to unlock the ability to place and upgrade things such as:
- Walls
- AI Survivors
- TNT Crates
- Food Crates
- Mud Floors (slows down enemies)
- Dummies (distracts enemies)
- Weapon Racks
- Shop
- Walls
- Collect and spend Materials to build structures
- First 100 Waves are pre-set, afterwards waves are randomly generated with bosses reappearing periodically
- Every boss drops a Treasure chest that contains large amounts of coins, materials and a random hat or weapon you don't currently have unlocked
- New Primary Weapon! - Beat the boss on Wave 100 to unlock a new Special Primary Weapon
- New Hat - Combat Helmet (unlocked via Achievement related to new weapon)
- 10 New Achievements
- 2 New Leaderboards - Compete for total number of waves cleared and highest wave reached
- Halloween Event! 13th of October to the 7th of November (UTC)
- Achievements and hats from previous years are back again!
- Increased max save/character slots to 16 (up from 4) - updated the character selection UI to support this
- Balance Changes -
- Blunderbuss - 6 pellets are now loaded into the gun at the start of reloading (continues to load 3 at a time afterwards)
- Scoped Rifle - Speed is now affected by "+Single-shot firerate" perk (25% faster reload, 15% faster bolt action)
- All bosses now give 25% more coins on Normal Difficulty and 50% more on Hard
- The Treasure Chest from the Treasure Mini-game now gives 750 coins (up from 500)
- Lowered chance of finding empty crates
- Increased chance of the Treasure mini-game appearing when going for the Hardcore Achievement
- Increased Machete Slinger's attack damage during the Tower Bridge fight (to make up for the lack of bats)
- Blunderbuss - 6 pellets are now loaded into the gun at the start of reloading (continues to load 3 at a time afterwards)
- Fisherman Boss - Fixed movement speed (he will now move much faster in both phases as originally intended)
- Zombie Chickens - Improved Death Animation (feathers are now gibbed instead of part of the sprite animation)
- Skeletons - Blunt and sharp melee weapons now have the chance of removing their legs and blunt weapons can also now remove their arms
- Maggots/Shrooms -
- Maggots can now be damaged/killed while in the air after a half second delay
- Increased Maggot Health by 3x
- Reduced the amount/size of blood maggots produce when damaged
- Fixed certain player shirts going invisible when maggots were on them
- Fixed Shroom (maggot carrier) stumble/damage animation not working correctly
- Maggots can now be damaged/killed while in the air after a half second delay
- Added Randomise button to character creator and character customiser
- TNT Crates no longer get set off by thrown objects (sticks of dynamite and rocks)
- Co-op players who have not unlocked the higher perk shop tiers and player 1 has, can now unlock them simply by having defeated the corresponding bosses (instead of having to go into singleplayer to unlock the new zones for themselves)
- Weapon Racks now use the same system as other interactable objects (you now won't see multiple prompts if hats are near them)
- "press [] to start" message now shows by default on the start screen if a controller is connected
- Tweaked the look of the hat and facewear sprites when on the ground
- Removed obstacles from the beach and grassy hills levels during Mayhem
- The resolution of the decal layer is now affected by the game's resolution (decals should now look better at higher resolutions)
- Text quality is now scaled based on game's resolution (will look smoother at higher resolutions)
- Fixed various problems with 4:3 and 16:10 resolutions
- Fixed zombies not acting correctly in the Gatling Defence mini-game (not damaging the crates and being able to walk through the walls)
- Fixed boss kills credit only going to the player who got the last hit (for boss kill leaderboard)
- Fixed character and shirt customiser UI not showing the player's correct weapon + fixed hand placement
- Fixed bug that could cause the travelling merchant's zombies to go invisible
- Fixed the travelling merchant sometimes stocking the "Army Hat" which is an achievement hat (buying it prevented your from earning the achievement)
- Fixed the "Bloody Metal Mask" achievement being awarded to players who didn't attack the boss at all (in online co-op)
- Fixed bug that allowed players to have negative money
- Fixed aimline not showing for co-op players when player 1 is using mouse/keyboard
- Fixed UI buttons activating when clicking any mouse button (will only take left-clicks now)
- Fixed kill-streaks being tracked in Zombie Surfing
- Fixed profile icons not showing correct hair colour if you were using one of the newer hair colours added in a previous update
- Networking fixes and improvements -
- Game is now saved when disconnected from host
- Improved player position syncing when changing levels (stops the sliding that occurred on the Overworld map)
- Fixed projectiles sometimes colliding with the ground at different positions
- Fixed the state of some Overworld Map objects not being synced in some cases (such as the Tower Bridge)
- Fixed some cases where a player is shown lying on the ground when they are not
- Fixed case where the health of the bosses in the Tower Bridge Battle were not synced correctly
- Fixed barricade appearing after leaving Church/Pub for clients if the travelling merchant is present
- Fixed the fire in the Hospital level dissipating for clients
- Fixed Bone Chainsaw sometimes causing bullets to fire on other clients when used
- Game is now saved when disconnected from host
