GeraScopia Patch Notes — June 22, 2025
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Happy June! Going on Vacation towards the end of this month so I'm getting the Devlog out a little earlier.
Updated Lighting

Probably the biggest visual problem of current Gerascopia builds; the lighting engine.
It was hobbled together by displaying a bunch of tiles with different opacities, which caused a lot of visual problems, and affected performance pretty drastically. If youve had any performance problems in previous versions, this mightve been the reason.
This will also make certain areas with brighter backgrounds look a lot better!
Updated Visual Effects
Water, and other areas, will now give you more effects. Theyre meant to be as subtle as possible while still feeling like theyre there.
Snake's Path

An additional area that's being added to this update will act as a connector between each of the 4 main areas. The entrances may be closed, but once open, they will be open forever (unless, you delete your save file or something).
Additional Progression Information
Most of this month has been dedicated to respriting a lot of old stuff. icons may look more polished and sprites have a new layer of paint.
I'm additionally working on adding a lot more puzzles in the newer areas. I'm suprised how little puzzles are in Gerascopia at the moment. Its either finding a hole in the wall or something so cryptic you need an insane amount of luck to find it.
Additionally, the scope of this update is going to be decently big, but I'm getting a vibe for when it might be out. im NOT giving you a date because my track record for release dates is very bad.
