Floodcore production discontinued for now
Floodcore Patch Notes — September 17, 2024
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Hello everyone,
I never thought I would have to make this announcement, but sadly Floodcore’s development will not be continued in the near future.
As you know Floodcore is a student project, and the 5 of us have graduated and are now looking for a job in the industry.
We would have loved to continue working on the game, we had more functional mechanics and puzzles to expand the game with, but simply no time to implement them with the same quality as the existing ones.
Developing Floodcore into a fully fledged game would take months, if not years, depending on the size of the team. Puzzle games need a crazy amount of playtesting and fine-tuning.
Given the state the industry is in, finding a publisher and/or funds would be exceedingly difficult.
Reading all the reviews on Steam made me hope that we could continue production for everyone who enjoyed Floodcore, but I’m afraid it won’t be happening.
I’m very sorry to disappoint you, we do not have the means to continue a full time production as we did during our studies.
Thank you very much to everyone who took an interest in our small game. Reading your reviews fills us with joy, but also sadness, for not being able to meet your expectations. We are very happy to know that players enjoy Floodcore, and we are really grateful for your kind words, they mean a lot to us.
I will still be on the lookout for issues on the current version to make small patches, for any new or returning players.
On behalf of the Floodcore team, thank you!
Julien
