Escape This Patch Notes — October 22, 2016
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Hey all so after i have read a recent review i have decided that the game that i thought was ok to leave is definitely not ok haha. Reading this review has opened my eyes and i have started on a FULL rework of the game. What does this mean it means i am re creating the game from the ground up.
Features currently in the new version:
1) Custom Collision Engine(I am no longer using Unity3D's default Box collision/Rigidbody as these made the player get stuck on some points of the map. I have now created my own Collision/Physics engine specifically for the game.).
2) Maps now load in alphabetical order and not any old random order.
3) New custom map builder. Thats right i have re created the way map loading works which means i could now implement the new 3D Map builder that so many people have wanted for so long.
4) MASSIVE UI changes.
Features yet to be added:
1) Community map uploads. I am yet to decide if i am going to use my own website to host map uploads or if i am going to continue using the workshop for the game.
2) Possible controller support(This is currently on my list of maybes depending on how many people want this feature i may add it before the release of the new version)
3) More music currently being made.
4) Possible multiplayer(This is also on my maybes list how ever it is right down the bottom since multiplayer will be the very last thing i work on)
5) Currently the only blocks in the game are. Player cube, Default cube, Wall cube and the Death cubes. I am still working on all the other different blocks. Spinners, Spikes etc etc.
More Info:
I will be releasing a beta build for the game so you guys may keep up to date with all the new features i implement to the new game over time. At the moment the game is playable including the map builder how ever there are only 4 blocks. When i add my newest block which is called 'Bounce cube' i will release the new beta build and i will announce here what the password is to access this build.
