Graphics update
Escape From School : F.E.L.I.C Patch Notes — February 5, 2023

We've updated the graphics and level of detail of Escape from School F.E.L.I.K. Many new scenery elements have been added, room interiors have been redesigned, and new visual effects have been added. The lighting has also undergone changes. The light sources on the map have become much larger, but poorly lit areas have become darker. These changes helped to achieve a more realistic and scary atmosphere in the game.
Post-processing changes
Added new vignetting effects. Light compressors have been changed. Different locations now have different post-processing effects applied for better compliance.
Changed the smoothing type from HDR to MMSI, added screen motion blur. Eliminated image breaks during sharp turns.
New gameplay features
Markers are added to the lockers so that they are visible in poorly lit places.
The character's walking speed has been reduced from 600 units/sec to 550 units/sec.
Acceleration rate has been reduced from 800 units/sec to 650 units/sec.
Acceleration time has been increased from 4 seconds to 7 seconds.
Haste cooldown increased from 5 seconds to 8 seconds.
Added new types of screamers and their spawn locations.
The camera pan in the cut-scene of Felik's finishing has been corrected. The rotation of the camera to the mob is fixed. (In some cases, the camera made several turns)
Added a new mutant model used in screamers and quests.
Added hints in the form of markers for quest items:
Table in the Ritual Room
Control center 305 (place where cassettes are inserted)
Computer in the ritual room (with a full explanation of the quest and action plan).
Hints about the gameplay have been added, in particular, a table with a warning about the desired presence of a camera has been placed in building 2.
Bug Fixes
Reworked camera mechanics. Earlier there were bugs when the light did not hit Ilyich. Now the flash can pass through minor obstacles in front of the target. The flash damage range was increased.
Fixed a bug when Illich came close to the character, but did not attack.
Fixed a bug when in the Ritual Room the cvxt did not start due to the fact that the player does not have a camera. At the same time, the room was closing and he could not get out. The only solution was to exit the game.
Fixed the possibility of multiple activation of the computer in the Ritual Room. Now, after the message appears, it will be impossible to reactivate the computer. This error made it possible to collect several cassettes.
In the statue knocking quest, problems with movement inside the room have been fixed. Previously, the character rested against the invisible walls, which were the disappearing shelves.
Fixed a bug with the disappearance of some location decorations after death. For the sake of optimization, objects in buildings where there is no character are hidden on the map. In some cases, due to a faulty trigger system, the level could not load, and some objects were in the air.
Fixed a bug when Illich could not go down to the 1st floor of building 2. Also, unexpected teleports to the place of his appearance were associated with this. Eliminated cases when he got stuck in obstacles. Fixed sound bugs.
Updated locations
All places on the map have become more detailed due to graffiti on the walls, garbage on the floors. Also, in some areas, damage to the walls was added, and there was more dynamic furniture. Some places on the map have different wall textures, wallpapers, and interior design. The lighting effects have been enhanced, the map has become brighter, but the eerie atmosphere remains.

The main goal of this update is to bring the game to a good, competitive level. We updated the old quests, added more elaborate methods of screamers and adjusted their number.
