2.3 Nebula Update has been released today, February 11, marking the game’s 5th anniversary!
The following video highlights the major new features in this update.
Below is a brief overview of the features and changes included in this major update.
Nebulas

Update 2.3 introduces a new world type: the Nebula. Nebula Worlds are breathtaking expanses of glowing gas and dust, illuminated by shifting light and charged particles. Beneath their beauty lies danger: powerful radiation and dangerous lightning discharges. Explorers can undertake a new study task focused on collecting nebular plasma.
Codex

The Codex is a new knowledge system that rewards exploration. By collecting stones and artifacts, explorers unlock Codex entries on a wide range of topics, such as ocean worlds and asteroids, and earn badges for their discoveries.
Claim Highest Elevation
Explorers can now claim the highest elevation in a system. Record-breaking peaks are stored globally under the discoverer’s name.
Cockpit Lighting

The cockpit now uses physically correct lighting with dynamic shadows for a more immersive experience.
Auto-Build
With Auto-Build, the game automatically places the necessary blocks to assemble a blueprint, making construction faster and more accessible.
Proxima Centauri b

The starting world, Proxima Centauri b, has been revamped with more dramatic terrain, improved vegetation, and an enhanced tutorial experience.
And...
Alongside these major features, the update delivers numerous smaller improvements, added polish, and a wide range of bug fixes.
We hope you’ll enjoy the new features introduced in this update. More exciting updates will follow soon.
