Dark Envoy faithful, it's time to celebrate!
We're kicking off Dark Envoy's Second Anniversary celebration with the launch of Patch 1.9, the Anniversary Update! But this isn't just a celebration, it's a huge step towards our goal of delivering Dark Envoy version 2.0 and improving every part of your experience.
This update focuses on further fixes and quality-of-life improvements, and brings a brand-new feature to get you into the action faster. We've added a much-requested Look Randomization button in Character Creation, allowing you to instantly generate unique starting looks for your heroes.
Beyond this new feature, the update delivers fixes for controller inputs, and addresses various camera and UI issues. It also includes preventative measures for visual bugs like pink textures and black-greenish portraits, including:
added shaders reload for inventory during character generation - for pink textures, black-greenish portraits, missing body parts (armor elements)
changed render queue of item icons - for missing icons
Should these graphic issues still persist for you—or if you encounter others—we kindly ask you to report them directly on our Discord channel (#bug-reporting). Your save files are invaluable, and we are committed to working with you individually to find and eliminate any bug for good (case-by-case).

NEW FEATURES
added look randomization button in character creation
GENERAL FIXES
fixed some instances causing area control (last) challenge not to end correctly after 100%
fixed some instances where party members were stuck outside of battle before Ruga's bossfight
fixed collector's necklace effect to count two handed weapons as two items instead of one
fixed some instances where shader was swapped in character inventory preview while dual wielding same type of weapon
fixed "Gamepad not supported" messages poping up infinitely covering full screen (from now only one instance is triggered per device)
fixed multiple instances of the "same" enchantment during hover preview in research panel
fixed instances of videos not being displayed in draw path tutorial
fixed cinematics on widescreen monitors being stretched on width
CAMERA FIXES
added camera focus on party after cutscenes
added camera focus on party at the start of boss fights
fixed camera focus on units after teleport (which sometimes caused the camera stuck outside of bounds)
fixed camera focus after loading autosave (most notable change on challenge arena)
TRANSLATIONS FIXES
fixed Organthe's Avatar name not being displayed or always being displayed in English
fixed some minor missing translations in Japanese localization delivered in Update 1.8.1
fixed some other translations predominantly in German (gramaticall, missing transalations, texts in other language in German version)
added some missing translations mostly in items weapon skill descriptions for languages other than English
QOL IMPROVEMENTS
fixed additional autosaves being created when autosave is loaded (most notable on loading challenge arena)
fixed some instances where inputs stopped working in cutscenes (after recent update)
fixed issue with credits and codex cinematics being not skippable (and/or looped) using controller
fixed expand in codex previously making all of its entries being permanently highlighted on first try
