A widely recognized security vulnerability has been identified in the Unity platform, affecting games and applications built on Unity 2017.1 and later. This update addresses that issue and ensures continued player safety. Unity has confirmed there is no evidence of exploitation or impact on users or customers to date, across all affected platforms including Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android.
This vulnerability is related to the underlying Unity engine and affects a broad range of Unity-based projects developed since 2017. It is not unique to this game. Unity and various platform partners have already released necessary fixes to maximize protection for everyone.
Key points:
- All games and applications built with Unity 2017.1 or later on Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android may be affected.
- No evidence exists of exploitation or user impact at this time.
- Player security is my highest priority, and for this reason, an update was provided on day one of Unity’s advisory.
For more information, please see Unity’s official FAQ and remediation guide.
Additional note: To patch this vulnerability, I needed to update the Unity editor to the latest minor version. While I have thoroughly tested the update and found no bugs, I did notice a change in the scene lighting. If players experience any issues related to scene lighting, please let me know, and I will address them as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your confidence.
Please update to the latest version to ensure your continued safety and peace of mind.
