Multiplayer Beta Update #2
Astra Protocol 2 News — June 9, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Attention Captains,
We've uploaded v2.1.4 of the Astra Protocol 2 multiplayer / terminal beta.
We believe we're now at the stage where all major features and core functionality are in place. From here, our focus is on tracking down any remaining bugs and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
We've even found time to fix another couple of extra issues along the way.
Here's a brief summary of some of the changes:
New Terminals - Engineering and Docking
These modes now display their intended readouts, giving crew members the information they need.
Fixed Modes and Commands
Terminals in fixed modes no longer block command input. Text outside the mode readouts won't persist, but this change makes it easier for additional players to maintain a crew role, such as engineering or weaponry.
Scan Mode Improvements
If no scan has been performed, the terminal will explicitly state this rather than showing a blank output.
F10 Behaviour Fixed
In windowed mode, pressing F10 previously clashed with Windows system behaviour. We now intercept the event so it no longer interferes.
Voice Settings
Voice type and speed were not loading correctly. This issue has now been fixed and should persist between sessions.
Auto Complete
The issue with SET / SETTINGS conflicting when pressing TAB to autocomplete has been resolved.
Crashing Terminals
Guards have been put in place to reduce the risk of remote terminals crashing.
Adjusted Rendering
The rendering was handling the viewport in a bit of a strange way. We've tidied up the code on so this runs a bit better. Hopefully these changes shouldn't be visible to the player.
We think we're at the final stretch with this new patch, so we encourage you to try this out. Grab a few friends, take to space, and see if you can uncover the mystery of the Astra Protocol...
