Improved locomotive breakdown system
Trans-Siberian Railway Simulator Patch Notes — February 23, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Coupler Failure: The coupler can now break if wagons are connected at excessive speeds.
Inspect Mode: Improved access to coupler component previews in inspect mode.
Sounds: Added sound effects for when a part reaches 0% durability and for jammed, broken levers.
Real Impact: Broken parts now have a tangible effect on comfort, performance, and safety.
Dynamic Physics: Depending on the broken part, the locomotive may tilt, bounce, sway, vibrate, or suffer from braking and pressure issues.
Scaling Difficulty: Problems intensify as more parts become damaged.
Speeding Penalties: Exceeding the speed limit at "Slow Down" signs can cause full damage to a random part.
Reconfigured a switch at Krasnoyarsk station to simplify maneuvers.
Fixed stuttering of locomotive driving sounds.
How does it work now?
The more you exceed the speed limit at a "slow down" sign, the higher the chance that a random part of the locomotive’s undercarriage will be destroyed.
Ignoring "Turn off the electrical power" or "lower the pantographs" signs may result in the destruction of electrical parts.
Furthermore, levers wear out based on how often they are used.
Additionally, non-electrical parts wear out as the mileage increases.
Light bulbs wear out based on how long they remain switched on.
Coupler components can be damaged if wagons are coupled at excessive speeds; the higher the speed, the greater the damage.
