Dark Envoy Patch Notes — April 4, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Once again, we’d like to say a big thank you for your continued support.
It’s been almost two months since one of the largest technical updates we’ve released so far, and we’re happy to see that the number of reported issues has been significantly lower than expected.
With that in mind, we’d like to share another round of changes, along with responses to some of your questions and suggestions.
Version: 1.9.3.75642; download size: 72.7 MB (size may vary between players)
Team-wide stance change
To improve party management especially in high-pressure situations we’ve introduced a way to change all party members’ stances at once.
Mouse & Keyboard: Buttons are located above the first party member’s skill bar (gif below).
Gamepad: Open the radial menu (LT), then press Toggle Stance (when no character is selected). This rotates the entire team’s stance based on the first party member.

Global skill refresh
Global skills unlocked through the Tactical Research tree were previously limited to one use per location.
With this update, global skills now refresh upon opening a unique chest. This change should be especially helpful on higher difficulties, allowing for more tactical use of both skills and chests.
Additionally, each challenge will now have global skills available again after the reward is collected.
Branching
Following the latest update, some of you requested additional version branches.
Previously, only two public branches were available: default and previous_version. We’ve expanded this to include more options:
default – current version
previous_version – version before the latest update
1.9.1 – last version before engine update
1.7.2 - last version before steam deck update (oldest available)
Important note
Saves are NOT compatible between versions.
If you plan to switch versions, we recommend backing up your saves beforehand.
Older versions are not supported and will not receive fixes. For the best experience we recommend playing on the latest version.

Known Issues
Based on reports sent by you:
Area Control challenge isn't completed despite the progress hitting 100% mark - as this issue keeps coming back occasionally we will work on more reliable solution for such cases for the next update, in the meantime we recommend to create backup save before attempting said challenge
in some instances Benedict's companion quest flow is broken and cannot be completed correctly causing player to be stuck in the dungeon, a fix is planned for the next patch, we're working on reliable solution as the issue is most likely connected with the Area Control one
placeholder icons may appear around the minimap - we couldn't reproduce said issue, we will keep investigating the issue in the meantime
Future updates
We’ve seen many questions about version 2.0, story expansions and various improvement suggestions from the community.
At this time, there is no confirmed release date for version 2.0.
Our focus remains the same: improving the core experience and overall stability of the game with each update.
Regarding story content - while there are no current plans to expand it, we are not ruling it out in the long term.
Saying that - we're immensely grateful for your continued support for Dark Envoy.
This update reflects our continued dedication to improving Dark Envoy and delivering the best experience possible. As always, please continue to share your feedback with us!
And once again - thank you for your continued support.
See you in Jaan!
