The Focus Continues
The 2026 focus on Siberian Dawn continues at a pace with another update for you today that not only brings several improvements to the game but also adds a couple of significant mechanics to add to your arsenal of weapons in the fight against the Dawn.
Update 7.7
So let’s start with the headline addition and its complimentary addition. Previously in the game we had the Influence and Threat Level tracks giving you a Vitae penalty if the Hostile forces increased them above their limit. But you didn’t have any benefit if you pushed those tracks the other way. So if you were on 30 Influence and added more you gained nothing, and if the Threat Level was on 1 and you decreased it you gained nothing. Well now that is all changed.
This update now adds Dominance to the game so that if the Union Influence on a Flank is increased above 30 the top Influence pod becomes a Dominance pod, and if this is clicked on during the Resource or Tactics phase then you will get the option to either Hold it, and use it later as long as the Union Influence on that Flank remains at 30, or to Use it and reduce the Threat Level by 1 for the cost of 10 Influence on that Flank.
And the second addition, as you will see, is a perfect companion feature to Dominance. If the Threat Level is now reduced and it is already on 1 then you instead gain 4 Vitae. So you can setup a nice combo of Dominance reducing Threat and gaining Vitae.
The next big update here is for training and information presentation. The Help Overlays have been refined and updated to include Dominance and other added features affecting the game. And the text for the First Tutorial has been examined again and any areas where it could be improved or expanded, to provide a clearer experience for learning the basics of a mission, has been completed. I will continue this with the rest of the Tutorials in the next update.
If you are new to the game or still trying to get to grips with it then the First Tutorial is the best place to start and as it has now been improved there is no better time to do that.
Other improvements along with the continued code clean up, started with Update 7.5, include changing the default pulse graphic setting from All Pulses On to now be Display Pulse Off so that by default the text boxes do not pulse but the overlays do pulse. Changed that if a Deployed Union unit on 1 Life is performing an action and the Fate drawn injures them then their card will now not be removed until the action is resolved to help communication of what is going on. And Frozen Units now only show the return option during the Resource Phase.
Deckbuilders Fest
Siberian Dawn is also taking part in the Steam Deckbuilders Fest between May 4th - 11th so check that out and pick up any missing DLC as they all have a big discount during this event. And more importantly play the game, and maybe let me and others know what you think of the improvements and where we are going with Siberian Dawn... Blood is coming.
