CHALICE, MOONSTONE HILLS – In breaking news, local authorities have confirmed that the sealed tomb of infamous necromancer Razaak has been "accidentally disturbed" by an as-yet-unidentified group of amateur adventurers, gold-diggers, or possibly drunk hedge wizards.
The fissure — described as “smelling like rotting ambition and burnt toast” — reportedly erupted with foul vapours and a skeletal hand flipping off a passing Giant Eagle. One Elf barely survived the encounter, and is now recovering at the Lion Inn on a strict diet of soup, grog, and trauma therapy.
“It’s exactly what I warned people about,” muttered reclusive wizard and known herb enthusiast Yaztromo. “You let one idiot open a cursed sarcophagus 110 years early and boom — there goes the kingdoms.”
The undead crisis, dubbed "CryptStorm" by local media, has sparked panic-buying of healing potions, talismans, and pre-owned swords. The Allansia Weather Bureau has also issued a Grim Forecast Warning, with plague, pestilence, and possible spectral fog expected to blanket the western provinces “by Thursday.”
Historians confirm Razaak was originally an apprentice of good magic, but switched majors to Evil after discovering it had better dental. His downfall came at the skeletal hands of Kull, a sword enthusiast who unknowingly wielded Razaak’s own cursed blade, and paid for the victory by being instantly reduced to dust and then turned into an unwilling ghost boat captain.
Now, a new hero must rise. Probably you.
