About Captive, other projects, and the future
Captive Patch Notes — January 1, 2019
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
So, it's new year, and i wanted to talk a little about the future of Dead Inside Studio, and about what i've accomplished so far.
As some of you might know, Captive was initially made as an entry for a game jam, in which you had to make a game from scratch in one month, and that's when the first playable build of the game was developed.
Before that i was working on another horror game called Ghosts, and i will finish it, in time, and i'm sure you guys will love it aswell.
I grew so attached to Captive that i didn't want to put the game in the contest anymore, and decided to publish it myself, and it was a really unpolished game at launch.
But here we are, the game has changed a lot so far, it gained a lot of polish and depth, and grew into the heart of some of you out there, which makes me very happy, and i must say it has become one of the best looking RPG Maker games on Steam.
Captive is now the "prologue" to a much bigger story, which will be covered in future games, so don't worry if it feels somewhat unexplained right now, everything will make sense at the right time.
For this series of horror games, the next scheduled game to be launched is called Samael.
Samael, based on an urban legend and internet creepy pasta by the same name, will cover the story of a young man who's chased by a monstruous looking creature after finding the dead body of his older brother.
This character, much like the main character of Captive, will have to survive while trying to figure out the truth of what happened to his brother.
While Captive was my take on the "escape the room" horror genre, Samael will be my take on the "monster" horror genre, bringing it's own mechanics, story and characters, while maintaining the style of it's predecessor.
The Steam page for Samael will be up by April, or even sooner, so keep up with me on this new project, here and on our website and Facebook page!
As always, thank you all for your support, and see you soon.
