Season 1 Mid-Season Patch 2
Project Xandata Patch Notes — October 20, 2022
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Ten-hut, Xandats!
Just a few days ago, we had a short server maintenance to tidy up and clean the systems. Now, we can finally tell you why! We’ll be implementing two new systems that would help you get games much faster, as well as allowing you to create custom games of your own where you can play with, or stomp, your friends! This took some infrastructure changes but it should hopefully get you more games on demand. On top of this, we’ve also implemented a little something-something to give our more xweatier xandats a bit of recognition for the time they put into playing the game.
Again, we thank you for your continued support of Project Xandata and hope that this update enables you to have more games, and even invite your friends to join in on the fun… or as target practice. We hope to see you again on the next update and in the proving grounds!
Dismissed!
AON Initiative
A new infrastructure has been added to our Matchmaking system! We’ll be using the new system in two ways:
AON Proving Grounds
Newer Xandats always have it tough, being matched against some of our more veteran players who show them no mercy, like “KaRt-DiLlEr2”, “LmZ”, and “panickedpotato.” This creates an environment wherein they feel like they get no room to learn the game and simply throw in the towel. But not anymore! New players will now be entered into a special queue, where they will be teamed up with other new players, or experienced players who can’t find other players to fight, and be pitted against a team of AON Recruits (Bots). This will continue until they’ve proven capable of handling themselves, or have had enough experience playing the game.
- I’m Too Young To Get Owned - New Players will now be queued into the Player-versus-AI matchmaking queue if they have not yet met the criteria for going into the regular queues
- Hurt Me Plenty - Once new players have finished a game with at least 0.8 KDA, or completed 3 Player-versus-AI games, they will then be allowed into the regular matchmaking queue against other players
AON Battlegrounds
Now, don’t think we’ve forgotten about our veterans. Sometimes, there’s just not enough xandats on-duty to make a fun match, and that downtime can be a bore. Well worry no more, because we’ve just been authorized to pit you up against the AON Recruits (Bots)! With the recent improvement to the recruits’ regiment, they should, hopefully, at least give you something fun to shoot at while waiting for other players to start the party.
- Ultra Violence - If players who are no longer viable for the Player-versus-AI matches cannot find other players to match up against, they will temporarily be allowed into a Player-versus-AI match for one game after queuing for a set amount of time (3 minutes).
- Nightmare - The matchmaking queue will prioritize the Party Leader’s queue type, so if you want to help a friend that’s new to the game, tell them to invite you so that you can show them the ropes
Disclaimer: Since the system has just been implemented, everyone will be entered into the Player-versus-AI match the first time they queue up in this patch. Once they’ve completed the game and met the above-listed criteria, they should then be able to enter the Player-versus-Player queues once again.
Custom Game Access
Ever wanted to set-up a private game with your friends so you could practice some flashy moves without worrying about your records? Or do you have a grudge against someone and want to finally prove who’s the better Xandat? Now you have the opportunity to do so with Custom Games! You’ll be able to set which map and game mode you want, as well as have up to 2 spectators with you! If you’ve been dreaming about making that flashy montage but never had the chance with regular games, then now’s your shot!
- First Come, First Serve - Only up to 5 custom games can be active at a time globally. If all the slots are taken, you’ll need to wait for them to open up before you can make a game of your own.
- No POTATOS Allowed - AON Recruits (Bots) are not present in custom games
- Are You Not Entertained?! - Up to 2 spectators can be present in a custom game

Leaderboards
Now here’s something I know a lot of you have been waiting for! The Leaderboards are now up and functional so that we can give props to those who’ve put in the time and effort into being the best, or the xweatiest, Xandat that they can be! We’ll be giving the spotlight to our top performing Xandats, and showing the world who to shoot at, or avoid, in the proving grounds. The rating is not only determined by whether you won or lost in a game, but also how well, or poorly, you performed, so just because you’re on the winning team, doesn’t mean you can just slack off! A Xandat Squad is only as good as its weakest link, so you better bring your A-game. Put on those tryhard pants and start climbing that ladder!
- No Rest For The Wicked: Leaderboards refresh frequently, so make sure you check it out to see how you’re faring against the competition
- No “I” In Team: Ratings are determined not just from Wins and Losses, but also with ingame performance. Your rating may drop even if you win a game but perform poorly, or you could get a rating boost even if you lose but do extremely well
- Where Am “I” Then?: Clicking on your medal on the left side will bring you to the page of your ranking
