Hey there everyone,
First of all, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has played Left Alone since its release in 2016 on Unity 4! Can you believe it's that old? It's crazy, haha.
It's been such a long time since I last posted, but I have been supporting everyone with answers to queries every single day since release back in 2016. It's been a real labor of love for me, and I've loved hearing from everyone! You can also send me an email, message, or check me out on:
I wanted to take this time to announce that I'm working on a brand new update to Left Alone - This will allow everyone to relive the adventure with new features, better graphics, greater usability and general gameplay improvements that were needed and suggested BY YOU! :)
I want to make the rework of Left Alone a more interactive and immersive experience with far more puzzles, story elements, locations and surprises along the way. I will be improving ALL systems related to the game, especially the gripes that everyone had. The game will move from Unity 4 to Unity 2022.3 which is a massive upgrade to core features that can be added.

STORY RELATED & ENVRIONMENTAL IMPROVEMENTS:
- Rework of all major outdoor areas: All with expanded play areas, brand new redesign of forest location. A lot more things to find, discover and visit.
- New models, textures, lighting, and environmental effects: I will introduce new PBR terrain and in-game models to make the environments feel more believable and up to date with modern techniques, brand new higher resolution textures and lighting. New custom post-processing and VFX due to an upgrade in the engine.
- Brand new never before seen areas: I intend to add never before seen areas, locations to add more story related elements and immersive moments.
- Brand new story elements: I will be adding new puzzles, notes, lore and important sources of information for your journey and may have some secrets in store too! ;)
GAMEPLAY IMPROVEMENTS:
- Brand new character controller: The new controller will have added fluidity to camera movement to make it feel more immersive when traversing and also include new sound effects for all underfoot surfaces.
- New Inventory system and interactive puzzles: The game will feature a brand new inventory system which allow you to pick-up more items, which can be examined, used and combined for gameplay purposes.
- Improvements to the flashlight system: The old flashlight system was a drag, so this will be updated to be more efficient, less of a crutch but also beautified to make it more appealing for usage.
- Improved note system and phone system: All notes will be re-written and new content will be added to add more story, background and information. All notes will be collectable and can be re-read after leaving a particular location.
- Adding new clues for puzzles and tough areas: this is to improve flow and reduce player frustration from feedback I have received over the years.
USABILITY FEATURE IMPROVEMENTS:
- Full controller support for all controller types
- New graphics options and menus across the entire game
- Improvements to the core save system
- Steam achievements
- Full re-write of the game code for efficiency and better performance
