Dragon Knight Patch Notes — February 8, 2025

Boss fight attempt # tracker added- lmk how many attempts it takes you to beat the witch so I can take an average to gauge difficulty (or how many attempts before you gave up, wiTchever applies).
Keybinds 1-4 for dialog responses added.
You may now press "1" to advance/close any dialog box instead of clicking on the checkmark/X.
Main menu feature once you beat the demo added.
Autosave & load functionality added.
Added master volume controls.
Difficulty settings added.
Alternative camera/character control style added.

Timing window to dodge witch teleport spell increased from 1.0 to 1.5 seconds.
Render targets (equipment/character portraits) optimized: should see about 10-20 increased FPS, most noticeable in the Cursed Forest.
Venturing into the forest unarmed was more popular than I imagined- you can now break out of the roots even while unarmed instead of autodying.
95% of development playtesting was done on the spin cycle... recommend using that combo (which is the default) for smoothest results.
Bug Fixes:
You can no longer glide across the bridge gap by spamming shield block.
Fixed Movement stutter during chat events.
Fixed issue where if player spams dodge key during initial witch event, camera ends up stuck in the forest where you can't see whats going on. Dodge now has a short cooldown.
Fixed issue where, on death, player would sometimes randomly appear at the mountain pass entrance instead of the beginning of the forest.
Disabled Lost in Cursed Forest reset widget- caused too many issues / isn't really necessary. Just don't get lost, or if you do, die or load for a reset. Plenty of things around to kill you now.
Dialog Box raidboss nerfed. Can now push "1" to advance/close any dialog box.
Input buffer added... during attack, if you right click and hold before your attack finishes, you will now begin shielding as soon as the attack ends. This does not help you if your attack is interrupted due to damage, however.
Fixes reload vs restart level issues and added a confirmation box for level restart.
Fixed issue with tree monsters still damaging you as they die, as well as ending their melee trace the moment you've successfully blocked their attack.
Fixed issues with Witch "fake-casting"- starting one spell, canceling it, and switching to another.
You can now turn while rooted.
